I weigh 59kg, I take 3 in the morning- 750mg and 500mg at night. It was recently upped as my levels were going up. I was told to take it twice a day with/after food to stop gastric irritation
I was Dx 3/26/18. Due to family history of PBC, my Liver specialist said he was going to max dose me. I weigh about 83 kg. I take 2 cap x 300mg twice daily (1200 mg/daiiy). I take it at 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
I was diagnosed 8 years ago, and weighed 68kg and and over time I gained weight and went up to 77kg at this weight I was taking 1000mg a day in two doses, but that was only 12mg per kg of body weight that’s when I decided it was time to diet and loose some weight during this time I was on the same dose of urso.
After loosing the extra weight I now weigh 66kg and I’am happy with that weight and I still take 500mg in the morning and 500mg in the evening , both with a meal or I get stomach issues.
So I’am now taking 15mg per kg of body weight which is the upper limit.( I read the dosage was 13/15mg per kg of body weight).
Just recently seen my consultant who immediately picked up on the weight loss and congratulated me on loosing it. She said to stay on the same dose as all my numbers were stable and the Alp had in fact come down a little in the last year and to continue taking it twice a day. With my morning dose I also take my vitaminD tablet.
i understand that some dr s recomend that a part of the dosage should be taken at 12 a clock in the morning because in the morning the liver is working better and after the first part of the day it slows down.
the other part of the dosage should be taken in the evening
I take the amount as yourself, I take 2 with breakfast & 2 with my evening meal as directed by my consultant. I also take other medicines for various problems to.
I take all my tablets together in the morning If I remember. And quite often i forget to take them, So I take them when I remember. My memory is getting quite bad.
I weigh about about 77kg and take 1000mg a day - 2 X 500mg with my evening meal. It was recommended that I took them later in the day as I have to take other meds earlier in the day. If I take them without food they cause nausea.
