I have a brother who I am responsible for along with my mother. I am have just reached the point of wanting to explode with frustration.....
He has been an incredibly difficult child all his life and we have described him as 'like pushing a bus up a hill', being 'weird' and being 'a bit of a dope' (although he is very bright); because my family is full of eccentric and odd types we though nothing of it but now that he is taking his GCSE's

Ever been (mis)diagnosed with aspergers autism?
I'm seeing a trainee neuropsychologist at Salford Royal and after having seen me a few times, subjecting me to a series of questionnaires and cognitive testing, has basically told me I'm aspergers autistic which I feel is especially due to my communicational and social difficulties. I was a normal person

Irritable Bladder or Intercystial Cystitis
Does anyone get an Irritable bladder? With no ability to hold it in despite fairly good pelvic muscles. It burns and I am back and forwards to the loo five minutes after I've just been. It also hurts in my abdomen and kidneys. Consultant says its irritable bladder or Intercystial cystitis. Anyone

Cystitis even while on anti-biotics? Plus certain infections connected to hypothyroid?
I am currently on Amoxicillin 500, which was not given for cystitis (have a bacterial chest infection) but can be used as such, yet I am still having mild symptoms of a urinary tract infection. I am very prone to them and have been for a number of years. In the past any anti-biotic took care of it without

Glad its not just me!
I've lived with my foster child for over 4 years and was relieved when I heard about FAS - I knew that was it! But yesterday I was feeling I'd let him down after seeing a paediatrician, who said 'it's not FAS because he's only got 1 of the facial features'. He said it might be ADHD and we could start

Can anyone help? I’m a 60-yr-old husband & father, living abroad, depressed, and running away from major problems at work & home.
In fact, my work problems are such that the business I am part-owner of may have to close. Things aren’t that good at home, either, and I am very worried about my depressive behaviour is affecting our two little girls, ages 8 and 4. This is hardly the first time that my life has gotten so out of

This might be worth a try if you have problems with your sight.
My neighbour was recently diagnosed with a serious eye condition that could leave her blind. She had limited vision so she's awaiting to see a specialist, as we all know the waiting lists can be lenthy. A friend of her's in Ireland recommended she tried LUTEIN from a well known health shop, we all

And a return of last weeks UTI :( ..... SO DO ANTIBIOTICS AFFECT ARMOUR THYROID or vice versa?
Had a UTI almost two weeks ago, as discussed in a previous question I am a regular sufferer of UTI's with no apparent cause. I am wondering about long term effects of Group B Strep
My son was born on April 4, 2013. He seemed totally normal and healthy. Within hours he was grunting, crying and wouldn't latch. He was evaluated and admitted to the NICU. The GBS culture grew positive in 8 hours (this is crazy to me because he is my 3rd child and every GBS test I received with each

Beyond Angry
Really not happy ATM, I have just had an email to say my mobile bill has been declined by bank. I was somewhat confused by this so checked online banking. DLA hasn't been paid this month, I rang them to be told it has been suspended while they make a decision on renewal. They haven't even contacted me

Anyone Potty Train an Autistic Child?
So my 3yr old daughter has just recently got her formal diagnosis of Autism (opposite end of the spectrum to me with Aspergers) & so far potty training has gone completely out of the window. She sees her potty as a 'ride on toy' & our toilet as a 'water play basin'. As such we are still in nappies

Just started psychotherapy...feeling a bit awkward...
Ok, after having been diagnosed with dysmythia last year I have just started weekly psychotherapy sessions which I'm having for a year. My therapist is lovely and I don't have a problem with her as such. But, I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable about the many awkward 'silences' during the sessions. When
