Hydroxocobalamin causing Acne?
Hi everyone, this is my first post. I was diagnosed with PA about 9 months ago. After my loading dose my skin broke out really badly with spots on my face, neck, back & shoulders. I spoke to my GP about this and was told it had nothing to do with the b12 injections as they do not cause acne. When

Newly diagnosed
Hi all. Just after the birth of my fourth child, I developed a slight raised rash on the side of my nose. At the time the doctor said it was probably hormone imbalance which I could quite understand at that time. About four months later, I noticed a rash appearing on the side of my face, which then

Large red, scaly patch on leg
For a couple of years now, I have had a growing red, ill defined patch on my lower leg (above the ankle by a couple of inches). It's always dry no matter what I do to moisturize it. My GP thinks it's nothing to worry about, and that it's simply an area of skin that was injured and, due to poor circulation

What's the experience on here of enbrel injection site reaction? Got a small rash 5 days after second injection on both sites
The literature suggests that you should use steroid cream on it. Could this be connected to reduction of steroids? I'm down from 10 daily to 7. Advice would be welcome as I'm just beginning to detect benefits

Hello, new member diagnosed with Discoid lupus this year. Does anyone know where I can buy UV protective clothes which wont break the bank
I'm still coming to terms over this diagnoses, so hard when we are walking into summer :( . I have brought two wide brimmed hats, but it is very hard to find clothes in the normal stores which will protect me from the sun..... I wear factor 50+ sun cream, although I'm not that good at remembering to

Anyone ever had external signs of liver/gallbladder problems plus high GGT?
Hi everyone. I've been a lurker for some time but decided it's time to post my experience and see if anybody has ever heard of what I am suffering from. I developed a lesion on my lower right abdomen about 18 months ago. It was painless and looked a bit like a bruise. Doc tried steroid cream, antibiotics

Can insect bites lead to long term skin conditions?
About six months ago I was exercising in the park and experienced lots of nat bites all over my calves. Six months have passed and the bites continue to itch. My skin has started to scar from th constant scratching. The doctors gave me a steroid cream which I applied and it helped bring down the bites

Is this thinned skin forever. Or will it ever recover. I feel so desperate.
It's been 2 years. The steroid cream i was told to use for 6 weeks on my penis for thrush has left me with thin tender skin. I still can't wear clothes or underwear which means I still can't leave my house, and as for inimacy with my partner it is impossible. My quality of life is really bad, what

I think I might have scleroderma. Would 2 major surgeries in less then a year bring it on? Had rash on hands and forearms now for 3 months.
Seeing rheumatologist May 7th. On oral prednisone along with steroid cream for rash. Dr. ordered some labs which didnt show anything. I have never had a rash like this in my life. Red,Itch, burn, feels hot,dry and rough no matter how much moisturizer I use and has turned my skin a darker color. Does this

What is Herd or Community Immunity and why is it important to us?
The Centres of Disease Control and Prevention in the USA (CDC) defines Community immunity or Herd Immunity as [i]"a situation in which a sufficient proportion of a population is immune to an infectious disease (through vaccination and/or prior illness) to make its spread from person to person unlikely

Help? I can't use paper to clean myself and need advice to change a wet room.
Does anyone on here have the problem I have in that I cannot use toilet paper to clean? It is because I had a lot of steroid cream that has thinned the skin. They kept saying it was eczema when it was undigested milk fat that burnt my bottom. Point is I have a wet room and changing it. I can't have

Has any one tried 'bio oil' on their spots. Mine have nearly all cleared up but have now left like a red flat mark/bruised looked?
I was using steroid cream which brought the inflammation of the spots right down but now left with these marks all over my arms which I'm concerned wont go. They're not sore or itchy!

Primary tuberculosis of the thyroid gland: an unexpected cause of thyrotoxicosis
Tuberculosis has often been implicated as a cause of specific organ disease - classic example being Addison's disease which was originally identified as tuberculosis of the adrenal glands. Tuberculosis of the thyroid is also documented - but not very often in recent years, in Europe and north America
