Give me your best Covid remedies and advice
After dodging Covid for a couple years, today I tested positive. I have a headache, fever, dry cough, chills and sweats. Upon the advice of my doc at MD Anderson, I am going to start paxlovid today and pause my calquence. I plan on getting an oximeter to monitor my oxygen, some cough syrup

why wouldn't the consultant order a scan of a goiter ( I have confirmed Graves Disease?)
I have a recently confirmed Graves Disease. And also a goiter. Anyone any insight please as to why the medics won't do a scan of the goiter? When I asked they said it's because the treatment plan is the same regardless in first instance - ie carbimazole - in hope that stops growth/ balances the

I think I’ve messed up!
Started to feel not so great. Was taking 2 grains of NDT and 25mcg T3( background RAI therapy around 10 yrs ago) I went to the doctors who took bloods. Results as detailed. I am not sure why my results are so low. I have been on the same dosage for a long time- blood results were always good! Has NDT

RLS and antidepressants
I’d be grateful for advice on this, as I feel I would benefit from an antidepressant. I’ve had RLS for decades, getting gradually more of a nuisance in the last 10 years or so, and have taken Codeine 30mg for several years, which helps to an extent, sometimes! I know antidepressants make RLS worse. I

Lone Paroxysmal AF or Hypothyroid Symptom?

Can iodine affect thyroid medication test result numbers?
Hi all few days ago I was prescribed a medication for atrial fibrillation, namely Amiodarone. It's contains iodine and if I had a thyroid which I don't my thyroid would have to be monitored regularly on this medication. So by having no thyroid I do not need to have regular thyroid checks. But I was wondering

Post PMR
I was diagnosed with PMR in May 2020. I tapered my prednisone down to 0 in Oct 2021. My inflammation markers have remained low so my rheumatologist has given me a prescription of 5 mg, if needed, for self medicating, I use Tylenol Arthritis for any symptoms that could be misdiagnosed as PMR. My

pmr without steroids
I’ve just been diagnosed with pms and doctor wants me on steroids, but I’ve asked for a month using natural methods ( turmeric, d3, omega 3, healing, and homeopathy) has anyone out there managed this condition without steroids?

STATUS UPDATE
It has been a couple months now off prednisone per doctors recommendations. As a reminder, the Rheumy believed I did not have PMR despite the elevation of inflammation markers and the success of prednisone because I am 49yo. Since I have been off I have been in pain daily in shoulder, pelvis, hands

Starting Pegasys Friday
Currently on Hydroxurea (1500mg per day) and transitioning to interferon on Friday. The plan is to still take one pill of Hydrea a day and start with an interferon dose of 45mcg. I'm staying positive because I'm 38 years old and I think this will benefit me in the long run when it comes to side effects

Hi, I am just following up re goitre and results which I posted last month. I have been to the Drs , had the blood tests at surgery and a scan for thyroid. I am told that the TSH etc are all within normal range - I have lots of nodules on my thyroid but all benign. The Dr has told me they do not

Wholefood Dessicated Thyroid Supplements
I was treated 25 yrs ago for overactive thyroid received RAI which made me hypothyroid and prescribed 100 mcg of thyroxine. I have never felt better with any brand or quantity of Levothyroxine and have given up with NHS doctors with regard to endocrinology. I have just completed reading a new book

painkiller recommendations?
hi all, I hope everyone is okay. I’ve been struggling with chronic daily pain, I have severe endo which has caused one of my kidneys to fail and so I have a stent in my left kidney to help it drain. This contributes to my pain but it is mainly a deep ache in my hip, pelvis and abdomen which I’m sure

Cardiovascular Protections from Omega 3 supplements now Doubtful
I have been taking a combined Omega3 supplement (EPA and DHA fish oil)to improve my cardiovascular risk profile along with a statin, baby ASA and careful BP management. I am a carnivore/omnivore but only eat fish twice per week usually. (Please don’t beat me up over my diet PBWF folks!) I am not diabetic
