Think that would be something to check with your doctor.
........or local pharmacist
They told me it was OK for me but I’ve never had to use the nitro.
I take them together { rarely ] BUT that was after checking with my Dr FIRST.
Hope your reason for you having to take the combination clears up soon.
Take care
There are some public drug interaction checkers on the web, such as drugs.com, which gave the following results when I entered codeine and one of the nitro drugs that came up (you judge if it seems relevant). You decide if it would be reason not to take it, or something you need to ask a pharmacist or doctor about. Hope this helps ... Website text follows:
Interactions between your drugs
Moderate
codeine nitroglycerin
Applies to: codeine, Nitrolingual Pumpspray (nitroglycerin)
Nitroglycerin and codeine may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. These side effects are most likely to be seen at the beginning of treatment, following a dose increase, or when treatment is restarted after an interruption. Let your doctor know if you develop these symptoms and they do not go away after a few days or they become troublesome. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you, and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Hi I’ve been using a Nitrolingual spray and taken Co-codamol tablets for many years with no ill effects but I am well monitored by my GP. So would recommend you talk with your GP as everyone is different. Good luck.
Yes.👍
I use my GTN spray, I'm on Isosorbide Mononitrate and I'm on Codeine for sternum pain after my OHS. My BP does go lower with the nitrates but otherwise OK.
