Huge increase in LDL
4 weeks ago stopped Rosuvastatin 10mg due to back muscles pain. The pains stopped. At that time my LDL was 1.4, HDL 1.4, Tg 1.1, ratio 1.8 and total cholesterol 3.3. Bloods were done exactly 4 weeks after stopping the statins and my LDL has shot up to 3.7! I had a shock. HDL is now 1.3, Tg1.3, ratio

Nustendi
Just been prescribed Nustendi in place of Atorvastatin due to the Achilles Heel diagnosis I got while on that. It says online that it has less adverse effects than statins, but the side-effects on the enclosed leaflet pretty much cover everything you can imagine. Anybody got any experience of this

I have recently been prescribed Atorvastatin, a statin to help lower my chloresterol. I am on a slimming world diet which I have been on for a few years and lost a lot of weight. I mentioned this to my doctor and she couldn't understand why my chloresterol has gone higher. Neither do I. So she has put

Hi, I have high HDL and normal LDL. Total levels over 6. Used to be very low cholesterol before half thyroidectomy over 15 years ago due to multi nodular goitre. Now on 75mg Levo. I am also type 2 diabetic for 30 years. Also low ferritin approx 30 despite taking iron daily. Recently given a statin

Results of brain scan…
Had brain scan last week, doctor just rang, asked how I felt, told him still on 5 mg, surprisingly said if it gives you a quality of life that’s good. Mumbled on then said scan ok except some swollen blood vessels. He asked if I was on statins, starting them later in the week. He said ideally I would

Cholesterol
Hello all, Following a recent blood test, I've received a message from my GP saying my cholesterol is a bit high and advising lifestyle changes and offering statins. I'm currently researching statins trying to make an informed decision. I read that they are advised for CVD. I have a leaking Mitral valve

Adding calcium in order to strengthen bones
Hi. I have Stage IV Pca and on year 3 with Eligard and Xtandi (age 59)I've had a DEXA scan and my bones are not in the best shape due to Eligard. Getting zolendronic acid every 4 months I've just had a heart scan, and it seem like one of the blood vessels are starting to calcify. The doctors want me

When to take my T3
Is it ok to take T3 first thing in the morning at the same time as other meds. I take statins and BP meds in the morning and my Levo at night. Or should I just take it at night with my Levo.

Potentially Heading Flarewards
Long post warning!!! After 4 years since diagnosis I thought I was starting to work towards the home straight. I have had 3 relatively PMR pain-free years with my issues being more anxiety or “other stuff” related. My tapering has been slowed down considerably by a couple of GCA concerns which thankfully

Just a follow up to my post last week
Wanted to say a special thank you to Jaydee1507 and SlowDragon for giving me their very kind and most informative advice. I was feeling quite stressed at the prospect of having to have a telephone consultation with my GP and feared a low TSH was going to result in being told a reduction in levo would

low TSH higher cholesterol
I had a blood test via my GP and my Cholesterol has risen to 6.7, but my TSH has remained Very low at 0.02. I am on 100mcg Levo and generally feel fine if a little tired all the time. I had a phone consult with someone who I have never met, and declined statins and a reduction in levothyroxine. My T3
