weight, diet and statins?
currently down to 5mg, generally chugging along ok, still working, but feeling occasional fatigue so assume I’m getting towards my own adrenals firing back up. Unfortunately I’ve put on about 25lbs over the last 15 months or so 😠 so looking to maybe start trying to lose some. About 3-4 years ago

Is this a long wait to see a cardiologist, or is it normal?
I had an MI while abroad in December, I had to have CPR, I had a stent put in and spent 4 days in a foreign hospital ( it was very nice and my treatment was excellent) and I am now on what appears from this forum to be a pretty standard cocktail of thinners, statins, beta blockers, etc . I’ve seen

I had just got over flu when I saw my respiratory consultant and he said my lungs were clear but the scan said I had grade 2 obstructive airway disease secondary to post covid bronchiolitis and radiological emphysema with normal gas transfer and minimal fibrotic ILD. He changed me from Trelegy to Trimbow

New Job, stressed regarding previous health
Hi all, just looking for some information to put my mind at ease as no amount of googling can give me the answer I need. I had a Stent put in December 2012 and another December 2022, I was made redundant December 2023 and I have just secured further employment. My concern is surrounding the health questionnaire

A simple life with Acalabrutinib?
Hi! As an 80 year old guy living (happily) in a rural backwater, I’m 100 miles of slow unpredictable travel away from my haematologist and the associated treatment centre. I have CLL with 17p deletion. I’m soon going to start acalabrutinib medication along with prophylactics etc. Does anyone know what

Feeling confused!
After hearing in a podcast about LP(a), I decided to get tested for it in view of a family history of aortic stenosis. The results of the test show that I do indeed have higher LP(a): 127nmol/L. The LDL Cholesterol is 3.5 nmol/L which is a red flag. However, all the other results are flagged green: ApoA1

Concern over liver function test
I was taken to hospital in mid-October with heart MI and had an angiogram two days later. This showed no problems with the arteries. I was discharged with statins and other medication pending an MRI. I'm still waiting for the MRI and my consultant appointment is not until mid-April. I have just had the

cirrhosis and statins
I’ve not asked for help on here before and would really appreciate any advice. I have alcoholic cirrhosis and am being recommended statins for cholesterol by my practice nurse. I’m a 57 year old UK male. The information sheet from the nurse session warns not to take statins if you have cirrhosis. I’m

Bisopropol and amlodipine maybe too much meds? causing more pain in angina.
Hi I have angina since last summer, was on amlodipine for high BP previously and cardiologist put me on bisopropol 2.5mg, I have over time had increased squeezing or tightening on left side, new GP increased dose of amlodipine to 10mg daily, this was not good for me, as I had a lot of pain in my right

Oh well, it was inevitable I suppose!
Regular medical check-up revealed hypertension and chronic kidney disease (ckd). I’m 68 and otherwise well. GP is treating the hypertension (which he deems to be the root cause of the cdk) with Losartan and Atorvastatin. Both of these are long term treatments though I suppose ‘long term’is a relative
