Experience of neurology during the coronavirus crisis. Asking for your help!
Dear all We have a virtual meeting of the Medical Advisory Panel of Ataxia UK in a couple of weeks. One of the topics we will be discussing is how neurology appointments have been affected by the coronavirus climate that we unfortunately find ourselves in. I would be so grateful if you could let me

I’m high again
I give up despite following all the rules, I have only had three INR results (of my weekly tests) In range (3.5-4.5) this YEAR I’ve ranged from 2.5-16.8 this constant sea-saw is literally killing me, I feel. I have no life now. I’m feeling so ill all the time. Not lockdown related. It’s been getting

NXStage home patient constantly threatened by nurse/doctor if I have questions or concerns. They say then go in center or hospice.
Hello, I’m a 67 year old male on home hemodialysis NXStage since October 2019. My daughter is my partner she is a nurse and has worked in dialysis for years. Everything has gone well with treatments at home. The only problem we have is that every time we have a question about my treatment I’m being

How common is abnormal uterine bleeding with endometriosis?
Hi just wanted to ask this quick question as I'd really like to have a better idea of how common abnormal bleeding, as in bleeding for a long time without fully stopping and at times outside of your period, is in endo. Asides from the pain this is my main symptom and concern and as I'm not diagnosed

Liver cysts - should I be worried ?
I had a scan last week for a suspected AAA which was negative but showed I have 6 cysts on my liver. I’ve heard nothing from my GP since then. I’ve read that some people have one or two cysts and if you have ten cysts it’s considered polycystic liver disease. I seem to be somewhere in the middle. Does

Finishing with Apixaban
Hi everyone, I remember how scared I was nearly 4 months ago when I was diagnosed with DVT and blood clots in my thigh (provoked - long haul flight followed by resting due to a broken foot). This group helped me enormously to get through the initial stages and calm me down. Now I am a couple of days

Lercanidipine - anyone have any experience with it?
Have just been taken off amlodipine because of swelling of the ankles/lower leg, setting the area on the leg damaged by cellulitis off and swelling in two fingers. Doc has put me on Lercanidipine to lower my bp. Am also on Apixaban. It was on this forum that I read about these side effects with amlodipine

PLEASE - do not take this as any form of advice or guidance. I am posting it as a matter of interest, very largely due to the many discussions about vitamins K1 and K2 over the years right here. [i]

Preliminary research info on Covid-19 in rheumatology patients
Hello all, I just saw a tweet about the findings from the Covid-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance. I'll paste part of the 'Key Messages' section here as it explains better than I can: "Due to underlying immune system dysfunction and the common use of immunosuppressants, there is concern about poorer

Warfarin cause raised BP
Hi all I have been on warfarin now for around 15 years, I’m now 51 and I have found out my blood pressure is raised. Especially the diastolic number in the 90’s and the systolic 130’s and my resting pulse in the 60’s has anyone experienced this. Could it be the warfarin, Thanks Ian

Coronavirus May Be a Blood Vessel Disease too
Not exactly a CLL post but an interesting article that poses the question that COVID19 is a vascular infection instead of a purely respiratory one. There is now a growing body of evidence to support the theory that the novel coronavirus can infect blood vessels, which could explain not only the high
