Hi All
I was wondering if any of the clinics are using the new drug as I believe it has a long duration between injections after the initial 3 loading ones of up up t 12 weeks. It has. Been passed by the FDA I believe.
Wishing everyone well
Ann

Have heard of it but my clinic very wary about enquiries for this or for now work on a tablet going. Vague replies like “oh that will be a few years etc” be very interested to hear more. Bound to be less scarring of back of the eye and less pain for those of us who don’t have pain free injections. Thanks for bringing it up. All the best.
Hi Shimano,
I don’t think we get much feedback from our clinics sadly, thankfully we have this platform and the research from the Macular society.
I am currently looking at what treatments are in the pipeline, I haven’t heard about tablets but the eye drops are progressing and the recent news on the FHR4 protein found that may be a significant cause of AMD, I don’t know how this can help at the moment but i will keep I nvestigating.
And of course Stem Cell is a future consideration for some.
So wishing you the very best and hope you have not suffered deteriorating through the lockdown.
Stay safe love Ann x
Good Morning Annsandra13,
In the UK brolucizumab (Beovu) is still awaiting approval for use by NICE. The decision is expected to be made and might become available in 2021.
All the best,
