Hi all I have been on warfarin now for around 15 years, I’m now 51 and I have found out my blood pressure is raised. Especially the diastolic number in the 90’s and the systolic 130’s and my resting pulse in the 60’s has anyone experienced this. Could it be the warfarin,
Thanks Ian

I have been on warfarin for 12 years. I think this change is unlikely to have been caused by it and you really need to check with your doctor or nurse. All the best x
You need to check with your medical team but prob unlikely.
I’ve been on warfarin for over 20 years I hate to say it but at 51 it’s about that time when you start to notice things like high BP etc. I was about that age when my BP started to creep up!
Has your weight also gone up in that time? I had a problem with high blood pressure and side effects from anti-hypertensive meds a couple of years ago. My GP suggested I lose some weight, so I lost about 8kg, dropping from about 11 stones to 9 stone 12, and the problem has gone.
Incidentally, both weights are in the healthy weight range for my height so when people heard I was on a diet to lose weight, they kept telling me I didn't need to until I explained why.
Hi there, I am 74 (woman)and been on warfarin since 1999 no warfarin is not the reason your blood pressure has gone up. Please speak to Nurse or Doctors, if you are stressed, put on weight, generally not feeling good then that could account for it. (wish my blood pressure was lower but mine is not warfarin related.) Take care
