12 year old boy still having night time accidents
My son is 12 and has always had trouble with wetting himself. He took ages to be consistently dry during the day but never had any trouble with that now. I think he just didn’t want to take time out of his day to go to the toilet! Grew out of daytime wetting by the time he was about 8. He often wets

hip replacement soon
my hematologist wants me to get my platelets under 400 for my surgery so I had to up my hydroxyurea to every day instead of 4 a week. He’s ok with them in the 500 range but thinks it’s better for them to be lower for surgery. He says I can cut back after a month after surgery. I really want to stay

Agony of Reducing Ropinerole
I have been weaning off Ropinerole for a while now. I am down from 4mg per day to .5 mg per day. However I when I try to come off or even try .25 mg, my legs always start up. My neurologist reckons my RLS is secondary due to a spinal tumour I have. When I get an attack, my left leg feels it has

Hip replacement
Hi everyone. I am looking to hear from anyone with A Fib who has had a hip replacement operation. Did you have any problems, were there any concerns about doing the operation from the doctors? Please let me know of your experience. Thank you.

Pace lesson learned
There has been a lot about pace and distance in the chat recently here’s my story… I graduated 3 months ago and have done 3 Parkruns so far (what a great organisation!) I was determined to go faster on my second PR. Big mistake! Took me about 20 minutes to realise I was struggling, my breath wasn’t

Incessant itching driving me crazy
I was diagnosed with SLE and APS around 25 years ago ; although I reckon I've had both for most of my life ; I'm 74. Over the years I've had a number of DVT's and a PE and I'm on life long Warfarin. I was on Hydroxy. but was taken off this due to it causing vision problems. The most persistant problem

Hello. I had a unprovoked PE in 2015 which was a frightening and life changing experience. I was put on rivaroxaban for 6 months. After a couple of year's my anxiety and life got back to more or less normal and living an active life. Well that has just all changed! I just had another Unprovoked PE

IBS-D and hemorroidectomy
I have had Ibs-d for many years and the resultant piles have now become a real problem. The NHS consultant says the only answer is a hemorroidectomy. Hi, everyone.
Hi. I am new but am so excited to be here. I have PTSD. I try a lot to handle my day to day. I need help getting back into society and interacting with people. I feel really comfortable in my home environment with my dog. If anyone has any suggestions, I would take them. I would also take sleep strategies

Just Diagnosed - Dealing with work
I have just been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis by CT Scan only, still waiting for blood and lung function tests. Question, how have others dealt with work. I find I am very distracted at the moment!

waking from an induced coma
Does anyone know where I could possibly find information regarding how people are woken from a head injury. So for example how they try and wake the patient and they give a time limit of say 2 hours then decide they aren’t ready so put them back into the coma and they keep doing this until they are

Covid and INR
I am recovering from a mild dose of Covid which, apart from a bad headache and fever/chills for a day has only left me fatigued. However, I am wondering if Covid raises the INR number. I know a lot of you on this forum take the newer anticoagulants but my cardiologist wants to keep me on Warfarin. It

catheter placement
I've been reading that feeding the catheter via the radial artery at the wrist is preferable for a couple reasons. If there's unwanted bleeding it's much easier to stop in the arm than in the abdominal. There's no need to have to lie flat on your back from 2 to 6 hours after the ablation is completed
