Third episode of persistent AF in 6 months
I had a successful cardioversion on Christmas eve and then another one just 4 weeks ago. Gutted because I went into persistent AF again yesterday. I take Edoxaban and have tried to take Flecainide but it makes me dizzy and very sick. I tried the "pill in pocket " yesterday but it did not work.

Pacemaker risky
I wonder if anyone else out there has had a double mastectomy? I qualify for a pacemaker (ef 38) but my Cardiologist thinks it’s a bit dodgy as I have no lymph glands under my arms now. The risk is infection. Since I haven’t seen my Cardiologist for 3 years because of Covid I suppose he can’t be too

Tamoxifen - side effects
Hi, I had a single mastectomy in Feb 2022. I started Tamoxifen about 17 days ago. So far hot sweats. Most people I speak to don't have many side effects. i have lots of visits to the loo but no major diarrhoea. I wondered how others have got on and if and when side effects settled. I have IBS and

Hi all, it's been awhile since I've been on here, so I will refresh all of you with my journey with cancer. I had Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer stage 3C, negative Brca. I did 6 rounds chemo, & also had a total hysterectomy. In fact today is my 1 year anniversary of that surgery, 9/8/ 22. I was then put

Scan result delay
Afternoon all, I am currently NED after being diagnosed with mbc in April 2020, have had a right mastectomy and elective left mastectomy. My question is are any of you in the UK suffering scan reporting delays? I had my 3 monthly scan on 9th June, results are still not back and indeed won’t be til 29th

Nerve damage and very painful hip following surgery
Hello, I’m 12 weeks in to recovery following a total hysterectomy and deep endometriosis removed from both pelvis walls, the sacral ligament and along my bowel. Recovery has been good stomach wise however one week after surgery I have a loss of feeling to my right hip to knee (I can’t feel touch)

Bowel endometriosis, 11 years post total hysterectomy
Hello everyone, hoping to reach out. I had a total hysterectomy 11 years ago conserving my ovaries. Unfortunately my most recent mri has shown DIE present in my bowel. I am waiting to be discussed at a multi disciplinary team meeting for surgery, which looks to probably be a bowel resection & removal

Total knee replacement. Looking for advice, guidance and wisdom.
I have a few concerns about my upcoming Total Knee Replacement surgery and would really appreciate hearing from those who have already been through this. Main concerns. 1. Does this major joint surgery impact negatively on CLL? Thats big issue. Currently in post FCR remission. 2. What may I reasonably

Comments please on recent blood tests. Thank you very much
Hello everyone, I did some blood tests this week, and here are the readings. I' m on 75mcg thyroxine a day, and take supplements for B12, vitamin D&K2. I have been on T4 for about 3 years. I've been on higher doses of T4 (up to 150mcg) but it only lowered my TSH without making a significant difference

Zoladex Injections
I’m waiting on a total hysterectomy due to endo, fibroids and PID. I have seen a consultant on the NHS and also private to speed things up. Whilst I am waiting my private consultant wants me to have Zoladex injections. How have you all found this? Xx

Post microTESE wait
Hi everyone, I’m about to join you all on this rollercoaster (or perhaps I already have) - my husband and I are pursuing fertility treatment where we live in France and are at the point where he has had a microTESE for sperm extraction. We managed to get 6 straws which I am pleased with considering

Spasms and tender shin muscles with RLS/PLM?
I wake in the evening with spasms (a charlie horse) in my lower leg. Here is how chatGPT describes them. "The muscles on the outside of the lower leg, along the shins, are called the lateral compartment muscles of the leg. These muscles include the fibularis longus and brevis muscles, which are responsible
