Coming off pramipexole but pausing for surgery

I was given a date for my mastectomy of October 4 so I decided to continue my pramipexole reduction until nearer the time.

I am down to half a tablet a day, from a full tablet a day. I am going to pause now though as they brought my surgery forward to next week. 😬 eek

Overall I am ok. I have had a couple of nights recently with my legs a bit twitchy but the doctor has prescribed me some codeine.

Seeing the pre-op team is on Friday and I will have details of the anti-nausea drugs with me to discuss.

As soon as I am recovered from my surgery I will then get back to reducing the pramepexole again.

I am due to have another full iron panel in about two weeks, but that blood test will have to wait for now.

You could "find yourself in a lot of pain" after the op 😉😉😉 and consequently might be offered oxycodone for" pain breakthrough "

Grab it with all the will in the world and get your withdrawals over as soon as possible.

Thats what I did after my spinal operation.

Worked a treat.

Looking forward to how it all goes.

And --- good luck.💚

Sending positive thoughts your way. Hope it goes well & you're not in too much discomfort. Madlegs' suggestion to take the oxycodone and use it to help you off the rest of the Pramipexole is an excellent idea.

please check anti nausea meds before the op. I had metoclopromide once and the side effects were horrendous for weeks after just a couple of tiny doses. My rsl went ballistic and I had tremors for months.

just wishing you all the best and I agree with the others about perhaps oxy for your pain relief. It would be great if it helped in getting off the DA. All good thoughts going your way

In my experience, as a suffered, codiene in small dose is the only thing that consistently works. Take 2 hours before bed. I am a physician myself but got it prescribed by a neurologist.

If you cannot get it prescribed just take solpedine (in UK).

And it now in the list of treatments in guidelines in UK
