Switching from T3 to T4
I've been on T3 only for almost 15 years, on levo before that. Kept having hypo symptoms despite high dosage of levo and my RT3 went through the roof (which most endos pooh-pooh away), so my dr at the time advised me to have a go at T3, for a short while. After some time I was told to go on dessicated

Between starting Steroids in July 2023 and going on holiday in November I had put on a stone and got sluggish and I was still tired and inactive. Three weeks' warm sunshine and some peace and quiet and I lost half a stone and got to regularly swimming a mile a day and clocking 10,000 steps. I dropped

feeling depressed for no reason.
Sorry to bother you all again, but I am feeling very low and feel like crying, but there is nothing wrong with me. I went to M&S this morning and the salvation army were playing seasonal carols, I just felt overwhelmed with sadness. My neighbour is on end of life care and I am trying to be supportive

Covid booster and steroids
I have been offered my Covid booster for next Monday but I had a steroid injection on March 25th. Does anyone know if I need to leave longer between the two jabs??

Asthma & heart rate
I’m not having much luck with my asthma lately. Having just had the second course of steroids in 2 months, it would seem that this exacerbation had also affected my heart, leading to an irregular heartbeat. I seem to recall a similar thing happening to me about 5 years ago, when I had a chest infection

COVID Vaccination
thing I made a bad decision yesterday. After cancelling twice yesterday I had my 5th vaccine. Today is day 11 of steroids and I’m feeling I’ve gone backwards. Gp had said it was ok to have the jab but I’m not so sure.

Is eosinophilic asthma mostly severe?
Hi, I am just looking for info really I was wondering about eosinophilic asthma, how common is it and is it always severe or are most cases mild? I have had chronic rhinitis with nasal polyps for a decade now and because my mum has asthma I was told that I’l likely get it (I am assuming the eosinophilic

Is it the Shingles vaccination or Prednisone reduction?
I was on the third week of lowering pred dose from 5mg to 4.5 using the five week go slow method. I was feeling good. The day after the Shingles injection I began to feel ill with severe stomach pains digestive upset, headache, lightheaded, Insomnia but extreme tiredness. Could it be simply the fact

Update on inflammation/injections
2 months ago I put information on the site about my upcoming injections at the top of my neck just below my skull, which was said to be Facet Joint injections, and maybe the cause of where the inflammation might be coming from, and therefore may not be Polymyalgia after all, which I have had for six

Hi all - I posted on here recently as I had an asthma flare up whilst in India. Well, couldn't make it home without seeing a doctor 😕 He said it was pollution induced and gave me a short course of methylprednisolone, omeprazole, anti histamines, cough medicine and antibiotics!!! He also said he couldn't

Recurring chest infections and phlegmy cough
Hi, I have had asthma since I was a teenager and excema all my life. I am 57 years old. For most of my life, I have managed my asthma well. Diagnosis About Turn?
Evening all, I joined this group 3 weeks ago - quite relieved to have been diagnosed - finally! The 'symptoms' literature that the GP had given me was absolutely spot on, as was everything I read in Kate Gilberts book - even my husband was gob smacked that everything seemed to fit. But, as of yesterday

What is classed as a flare?
Hi, I was diagnosed in November, had a steroid injection and started on MTX, once the steroid started wearing off the pain and swelling in my knees returned straight away but not in my hands, they have been great. Had a load of fluid sucked out of my knee and another steroid injection about 6 weeks ago

Out of hospital Pt2
I've escaped again. At least this time I feel lots better. I'm on more steroids. Slowly reducing and Anakinra... daily biologic. It's an actual syringe job so it's as well I'm a vet and used to giving injections. It's worse injecting yourself but I'll get on with it. Fingers crossed I'll be a new woman

I have been suffering with PMR for over 4 years. Started steroids 15mg to 4 mg monthly twice, then 8mg to 4mg. After which I have been on 5mg for a further 2 months and advised to stay on this dosage.I'm also now taking 20mg Methotrexate once a week. Still experiencing stiffness and pain.

Can’t reduce below 5mg
hello I’ve just joined this group in the hope that I can get some advice or at least some understanding of my situation! I was diagnosed with PMR nearly 2 years ago when I was 58. I’ve been on Prednisolone ever since, starting on 20mg which resulted in the usual miraculous sense of relief, and have managed
