Follow up after partial thyroidectomy, or lack of...
He'd sent my case off to a leading specialist who'd written back to say he thought I'd had a case of
thyroiditis
with no symptoms. My consultant gave his letter a very dour look and said it was little more than a guess.

Sounds too good to be true as it is written. 168 reviews in Amazon.com and all 5 star! The Author has Hashimoto's

Anyone with autoimmune thyroid problems tried the Low FOD Map diet? Effective?
Hi have been diagnosed with autoimmune
thyroiditis
, then thyrotoxicosis, probably Graves. On carbrimazole but opted for up and down titration depending on bloody results. So far, so good.

Update from US
He suggested
thyroiditis
(more on this in a mo). When I asked him about indications for biopsy he said that usually he would only recommend a biopsy if there were only one nodule, therefore suspicious looking. As I have several he didn't think they should be biopsied. Is this reasonable?

Thyroxine been reduced.
Eventually private diagnosis of
thyroiditis
and then consultant considered thyroid packed in completely. Since then have felt great on 100mcg and new symptoms only since reduced dosage. Have appointment with GP in a week and will also ask for results of previous few years.

need advice on NDT
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's
thyroiditis
ten years ago. I was on thyroxine (up to 200 mcg daily) for the first eight years. Two years ago, I was put on Armour Thyroid. I did just fine on it for the first six months, and then started going downhill.

Thyroiditis - Non-Hashimoto Thyroiditis
I do get to hear about Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis
with multi-nodular goiter but not so much about "other" autoimmune
thyroiditis
with multi-nodular goiter. Mine is simply diagnosed as "Thyroid Goiter NOS - non-toxic. I had spent many years of struggling with severe hypo symptoms.

Selenium supplementation for Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Cochrane Review
Some but not all people with Hashimoto's
thyroiditis
have an enlarged gland, also called a goitre. Hashimoto's
thyroiditis
is more common in women than in men and tends to run in families.

Looking for a good doctor. Cannot get help I require. Saying I don't have problem despite having autoimmune thyroiditis.
Can anyone help. I live in Ireland and am searching for a good endocrinologist or doctor who will help me. My TSH is 4.03 and I have high Thyroglobulin Antibodies and I feel all the symptoms of hypothyroidism and more. Tired all the time, extremes of cold. Major fluctuations between hyper and hypo

Diagnosis Confirmed, Treatment commenced - now ultrasound worries.
So after a year with illness and the GP's getting no where, I finally met a wonderful Endo last week who has put a name to my issues: Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis
. He has started me on 100mcg of Levo which I've now been taking for a week. At the moment no improvement and still very exhausted.

Is it Lupus or am I imagining things?
I've also been diagnosed with post viral
thyroiditis
, as I was losing weight and was suffering acute hair loss. I have also experienced my heart fluttering and skipping beats, night sweats and vitamin B12 deficiency and mouth ulcers drive me crazy!
