Very interesting article!
I don't doubt for one minute that some viruses are responsible for some chronic conditions. I'm fairly sure my thyroid health started spiralling downwards after having a nasty case of 'flu four years ago. I felt like I never properly recovered, although I am getting there now. Hopefully there will be more research like this in the future and for more chronic diseases too.
Thanks for posting

The reason we became interested was because my daughter had Roseola as a baby (33 years ago) and when recently tested in the US was found to still have
HHV6 hiding in her body. HHV6 causes Roseola, which we were told at the time was a harmless, innocuous infection - how wrong they were! More info here:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/182...
In view of your last sentence this site has more scary info:
hhv-6foundation.org/conditi...
As you say, much more research is needed.

It really is quite scary!
Thank you Jane. Very interesting. After my spinal surgery for stenosis in Germany I had the follow-up MRI scan done here in Crete and sent the disc to them for the check -up. The Greek doctors diagnosed Tarlov Cysts in the area of my spinal damage. Of course I knew nothing and researching lead me to the cause - yes the Herpes virus. They are manageable as they are small and I have to take good doses of VITC and Lyseine - which seems the only treatment. Apparently they can become huge !
I will continue reading - thank you...x
i had a terrible gastroenteritis for months . that was the beginning of it.
