How do I convince doctor to do something about my thyroid problem? What should I be asking her to do?
Had a scan this week where that doctor said had clear signs of
thyroiditis
- nodules, thyroid burnt out is what she said. But GP blood tests show TSH within range 1.2 (0.34-5.5), no FT4 this time, last time was 9.5 (7.5-19.0). Waiting for anti-body test results.

Post-partum hypothyroidism - would I need to come off meds to know if it's reversible?
It was never even suggested to me 6 years ago that my post-partum
thyroiditis
resulting in hypothyroidism might resolve itself. I was plonked on thyroxine - 100mcg and there I stayed. Would I know if it had a chance of resolving, or would I need to come off the meds completely to find out?

Helicobacter Pylori - are there many PBCers diagnosed with this too?
Some studies associated several autoimmune conditions (among which rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren's, autoimmune
thyroiditis
) with the presence of H. pylori. Which, in its turn, is associated with a high degree of inflammatory activity in the body and a low level of antioxidant factors.

Does anyone know Dermatitis herpetiformis?
Hi, i have Hashimotos
thyroiditis
which was diagnosed in Feb. I read the link between antibodies and food intolerances so came off gluten and dairy. I had a coeliac test at the same time as my thyroid test but it came back negative but thought i had nothing to lose so went GF anyway.

Asthma connection to hypothyroidism?
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis
in 2004, in spite of not having any of the antibody tests to my knowledge... my GP merely presumed this diagnosis and I was treated accordingly with replacement Thyroxine (the cheap and cheerful stuff...).

Confused by Endo response to my symptoms
I explained that my throat hurt and my thyroid felt uncomfortable, he had a quick feel and said I may have had a bout of
thyroiditis
. Outcome was he agreed for me to stay on 125 and have a review in two months but to get my bloods checked with my GP before I see him.

Has anyone with CD also been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? Have you taken Thyroxine and does it help?
I'm loathe to start taking it as I know that once you start you can't stop.....any suggestions for alternatives?

Not diagnosed but worried
Is auto immune
thyroiditis
so unlikely or the tests so expensive that the doctors just wave people away like that.

Overactive thyroid with muscle and joint pain
I have just been tested for
thyroiditis
but results not back yet. I am really worried as the pain is getting worse, has anyone else had similar pain with hyperthyroidism?

Did you know that there is a link between Thyroid Disease & Coeliac Disease?
There is a paper discussing the fact that early treatment of euthyroid (normal thyroid hormone levels) Hashimoto’s
Thyroiditis
with thyroxine may slow down the disease process. There is also evidence that shows that anti-thyroid antibodies can cause infertility and miscarriage.

There are many Types of Autoimmune.
Examples of Autoimmune diseases in this category include Hashimotos,
Thyroiditis
, (Thyroid gland) Pernicious Anemia, (Stomach) Addisons disease (adrenal disease) and type 1 diabetes (Pancreas). In non-organ specific diseases, autoimmune activity is widely spread throughout the body.
