RA Research - is there any?
I woke up this morning and was immediately annoyed!! I was thinking about something someone said in a post yesterday.. it wasn't the comment that annoyed me but the sad truth behind it - which was basically that if you have cancer there's a chance you may be cured but not if you have RA. This echoes

Pain in knees, elbow and joints w/o arthritis?
I know I am sarcoid but arthritis has been ruled out--so why do I have increasing pain in my wrist, knees, finger joints and ankles. I am also currently on MTX--can it actually cause these kinds of symptoms? I was also on a heavy dose of prednisone for months. Thanks guys.

Fibromyalgia diagnosis ruled out almost immediately
Hi there, I went to see a Rheumatologist a couple of weeks ago (with private med. insurance) and she sent me for two lots of blood tests and many scans. She suspected Rheumatoid Arthritis... She said that in order to be tested for Fibromyalgia your widespread pains should be 'explained' by other causes

Recommendation for private rheumatologist
Hi, this is my first post as I've just joined. I have just spent a week in hospital as my elbow hasn't been able to straighten for 4 weeks and I became crippled in pain. I was seen by the orthopaedic team who diagnosed me with bursitis and cellulitis. I am concerned that I have rheumatoid arthritis

Hey everybody, Hope you're having a good day. I used to post here a lot but haven't been back for a while. I probably won't hang around for long because everytime I post here I get run out by the angry mob, but I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on my wife. My Wife was diagnosed with Sero-Positive

New member seeking advice!
Hi I am new to the community. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia back in 2011 and at the time was told by my GP to'just forget about it!'. So of my own back I joined an arthritis self help group where we do physio in the pool and get together for social events. Despite all this the pain has just got worse

Teeth & RA
Just read someones post and lost it but saw this the other day. New research suggests that tooth loss – a marker for periodontal (gum) disease – may predict rheumatoid arthritis and its severity. The more teeth lost, the greater the risk of RA, one study found. RA and Gum Disease | Periodontitis - Arthritis

Hair loss
Hydroxy.....I’ve been on this now to supplement pred and Abatacept for about 7 weeks. A way to go to see if it helps but my hair is falling out. Every time I shower it flipping blocks the plug and my scalp shows through so badly now. With badly controlled RD, osteo arth and a failing hip replacement

Persistent neck pain NOT pmr.
Hi. I have PMR 2.3 years and on 1 mg prednisone which I manage with some paracetamol and Oil tablets. My neck has been very sore for quite some time and an X-ray shows moderate / severe arthritis. Never had neck pain before and I wonder whether there is evidence that PMR can lead to osteo arthritis
