Doxycycline and Methotrexate

I have been on Methotrexate since March fo diagnosed PsA (psoriatic arthritis) and have come down with a cold that has left me with a sinus infection. Primary doc put me on Doxycycline to clear it up. Has anyone used it while taking the Methotrexate? Are there any known negative reactions I should know about?

Reading your PIL (patient information leaflet) that comes with the med will tell you of known side effects ranging from mild to severe. I am taking MTX 20 mg and have taken this a few times for infections and had no bad side effects from it. Unfortunately, it took two courses to clear the infection each time in my case. We each react differently so my reaction to it may not be like yours. I hope you feel better soon

Speak to your pharmacist...they are much better informed on drug contraindications.

As I remember I used to miss my Mtx dose if I took anti biotics ..........your pharmacist is the one to ask.
