Am I imagining this?
I had my flu jab in late September. Since then I have had really sore neck, shoulders, right arm (below the shoulder), tops of feet feeling super stiff & sore. I am on 1 mg pred. So could this have nudged my sleeping PMR or is it me getting older, stiffer and arthritic (NO)? Or could it be all

Testosterone therapy & COVID-19

Happy Saturday everyone! Following on from me having the flu vaccine a couple of weeks ago, I was advised to have the girls vaccinated too. This is due to my vulnerabilities and having had to shield, couple with the fact I am a frontline/ essential worker. I took them today and when there, we were advised

Vitamin D
Hi guys, I’ve had my Flu jab today. The first time by a GP. Afterwards he spoke about taking 1000 units a day of vitamin D until spring returns. This is to help the heart if Covid strikes.

Shingles and vaccinations
Sorry folks.... this is a long post !! The Shingles vaccine used in the UK is Zostavax, available to over 70s as a single dose. It contains weakened (attenuated) virus and as such, can cause problems (i.e. infection) for people with weakened immune systems (for example, due to medication

Seem to be suffering from a lot of the potential side effects as per the leaflet with the tablets and been worse maybe coincidentally for 2 weeks since my flu jab

How long after the second infusion of Rituximab can I have a flu vaccination
Was wondering if flu vaccination would work after rituximab too.

Pneumonia booster necessary or not?
I had the pneumonia vaccination in December 2014 - almost 6 years ago, and a couple of weeks ago I asked my haematology consultant if I should have the booster. He thought I should, but wasn't 100% sure, so he said to ask my doctors surgery nurse. So I asked the surgery nurse, and she said it was only

Flu jabs and running don’t mix ( for me anyway).
Just back from a torch light 12k start to my HR build up. My average HR was 10 bpm up for the slowish pace and distance and VO2 max docked me a point. I have had a similar experience post flu jab in the past, so decided to find out whether there is a correlation; apparently there is!! Some people experience

Is Hashimoto´s a chronic disease or not...?
So, I registered to get a flu shot. Priority is given to risk groups, such as people with chronic disease. One question was: "Do you suffer from any chronic disease? If so, please specify". So I ticked the "yes" box and added "Hashimoto´s thyroiditis". Not to end up in the priority group, but just answering

Get your flu shot: It might shield you from severe COVID.
The coronavirus and the flu are two entirely different viruses. But a new study suggests those who get a flu vaccine face a considerably lower risk for being hospitalized if and when they get COVID-19. And the flu vaccine also appears to significantly reduce a COVID-19 patient's risk for ending up in

My Mum
Hello It’s been a long time since I last posted. My mum was diagnosed with NSLC stage 3b at the start of lockdown. Absolutely Fed up!
Hi all I'm so fed up with my lack of medical care. I've worked at home, shielded, since lockdown. I've had to do things differently, it's been hard but we've managed. I support schools in my role so you can imagine it's been busy. So why can't either my GP or rheumatology do the same? I appreciate it
