Vitamin D

Hi guys, I’ve had my Flu jab today. The first time by a GP. Afterwards he spoke about taking 1000 units a day of vitamin D until spring returns. This is to help the heart if Covid strikes.

I do that too, it certainly cannot harm and hopefully give us a bit more protection.

Vtr1000, remember to take magnesium with your vitamin D to activate it.

I take 3000 per day - but I am Vit D deficient likely due to NF1 status. Glad to hear your doc is paying attention. Many ignore the basics of nutrition. My Integrative Med Doc does pay attention and does a thorough nutritional evaluation. Turns out I am also Vit B/Folate and Magnesium deficient. Yep - more supplements for that too.

I take 5,000 units 2/day. My hematologist recently checked to make sure I’m still taking it. If I get Covid, I’ll definitely increase my dosage. Studies show in Italy and in the US that worst outcomes were with people deficient in Vitamin D.

.I’ve been taking Vitamin D 1000 and vitamin B as I was lacking in both.

I work in doors so don’t get outside much during the sunshine hours so it made a lot of sense. Made a big difference.
