I'm sure it's important to note he was in retention and on a Foley for months before the
surgery
; his PT does say the muscles are weak but NOT DEAD!! Thanks in advance, Jeri and Steve

I had a major
surgery
about 8 months ago but the pain around my stomach hasn't gone away. My blood tests and CT scan results are normal. They mentioned that have adhesions which make me in pain all day all night, so I only rely on the pain reliefs.

Does this look like lupus rash?
I’m going crazy wondering what it is and it’s got at least 2 GP’s confused at my
surgery
. Any idea’s would be appreciated but I’m not going to change the current “treatment” before I speak to GP again. Thank you.

Various Questions
The first 2 of those weeks I was in hospital having
surgery
for something else and recovering with opioid painkillers which removed the need for anything else. The 3rd week I started gabapentin but I don't have the levels right yet as I am having some break through feelings of RLS.

best anesthesia for knee replacement surgery ?
I’ve recently read that any
surgery
and/or anesthesia can trigger RLS. Even my orthopedic surgeon thought that anesthesia might have been my previous trigger. I know about asking for Zofran as the only anti-nausea med to use for
surgery
, but what is the best anesthesia?

Exercise after laparoscopy?
Had a laparoscopy 2 weeks ago to get rid of endo (including endomitrinoma),
surgery
went well & recovery is too. I'm not fully 100% yet but am so bored sitting around doing nothing! Does anybody have any recommendations for exercise post op that isn't too strenuous on the abs? Is swimming any good?

Hubbys assessment and now me. (Menopause and liver???)
I can see that he wouldn’t cope with
surgery
at the mo so we are ok with the results. The reason for not posting sooner is because I’ve not been well.

Scared. Mind is racing. Mom needs heart surgery.
My mom needs heart
surgery
. She is my best friend. She is 82. I am 47. I don't have a partner or kids. I have a brother. He helps sometimes but he isn't completely emotionally supportive. For the
surgery
we need to travel. Right there I'm out of my comfort zone.

3 Day Ventilation and Sedation After Aortic Valve Replacement?
Has anyone else had a valve replacement
surgery
were they were told they had to be ventilated and sedated for 3 days following
surgery
? Ventilation damages the lungs and those who are ventilated following
surgery
have poorer outcomes according to every single research paper I read on pub, med!

Meniscus tear/PMR flare update
I had requested more 5mg pred tablets on the MyGP app and last Friday got a call from the pharmacist at my GP
surgery
to say doctor wants me to drop to 4mg for 4 weeks then taper down every four weeks!! This was the GP who is in overall charge not the one I usually see.

Dental Issues with Finesteride
I am 7 years post full gland HIFU
surgery
. Quality of life remains good. I've been off ADT all this time. PSA has been slowly rising and hit 2.8. My urologist put me on finesteride. It prevents the conversion of T to DHT.

Cystitis post endometriosis surgery
Hi, I had stage 3 endometriosis
surgery
just over 4 months ago. Endo was removed from bowel, bladder, ovaries etc. Prior to my
surgery
I used to get cystitis only after intercourse which would go away after a course of antibiotics.

Prednisone vs Acterma with steroid induced diabetes. Really terrified
Update: April 2024 was scheduled for eye
surgery
for Strabismus which was canceled days before when in the same week I was determined by my Endocrinologist to have steroid induced diabetes which makes the general anesthesia too risky at this point.

5mg for flair…..?
My crp always came back normal and my esr was around 35 but my
surgery
won’t do esr anymore unless you have GCA. I’m thinking a week and then increase to 6mg? I’m just a bit unsure of how to go about it and a bit scared to play around with larger pred numbers without guidance…. 🤔

Dienogest?
I've finally seen a specialist and he's told me I haven't got deep infiltrating endo as it's not showing up on scans but I could have mild so has put me onto the list for
surgery
(which is a relief) but he also wants me to start dienogest.
