Has anyone had ferritin as high as 557
I just had my 1st lab tests since my restless legs increased last spring. I take ferrous sulfate 3 times a day. My ferritin tested at 557 which needless to say really surprised me.

Input would be greatly appreciated.
I'd be grateful of any advice to help me be prepared with the correct information before I contact my GP surgery. I've already received invaluable information from Forum members and the Pernicious Anaemia Society have been a lifesaver. Please excuse my long story and any over sharing of information

Ferrous Sulfate gives me headaches
Hi, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section as I dont have Thyroid problems. I've recently had a low iron deficiency confirmed and have been told to buy supplements and take them 3x a day. The chemist recommended Ferrous Sulfate 200mg. I have found that after taking just one I get an awful headache

Rituximab and statins - a good combo?
Morning Peeps 🙂 I am having my first Rituximab infusion 24th May. I have high cholesterol and have booked an appointment for a phone consultation with my GP today. I think it's about time I went on statins to reduce my high cholesterol. We have discussed it before, some time back, but she was reluctant

Infection?
Good day gents I’m on day 11 post circumcision, I have yellow stuff on my incision lines and/ stitches ….can this be an infection ? Second question , is it ok for me to take warm baths with Epsom salts instead of me putting warm water in a container and cleaning the wound using cotton wool ?

Should I have my own antibodies tests done while I wait for my endo appointment?
Hello. My endocrinologist simply didn't turn up for my telephone appointment on Wednesday. My next window of opportunity is 19th May - also over the phone. So, tests-wise, these are still my only results from blood taken 9th April: TSH <0.05 [0.3-5.5] pmol T4 34.7 [12-22] T3 14.8 [3.1 - 6] I am still

Feeling helpless
Hi all. I've had IBS since I was 16, I'm now 42 and the past year has been the worse. I feel like I've tried everything and I just don't know where to turn anymore. I have IBS-C and although I have a bowel movement every day I still get terrible upper cramps. I've had all the tests and gastroenterologist

The Magnitude Trial (and me, with scatological references)
This is a phase 3, large number international trial of the combination of abiraterone (abi + prednisone) with a newer PARP inhibitor (PARP-I), Niraparib (nira). It is run by Janssen/Johnson & Johnson who hold the patent for abi. They are no doubt hoping to extend the patent and make a combined abi/nira

Ferritin of 56
I was taking iron tablets for anaemia for a few months, and when I was re-tested recently my ferritin was 56. The GP advised me that I was no longer anaemic and to stop the iron. I am extremely tired and I have diffuse hair loss. I have started taking a maintenance dose of ferrous sulphate again and

Beaten :(
I just attempted W9R1 but didn't complete it. I had a niggle in one hip and pulling in the opposite calf, so I walked after 25 mins. Not sure if that was the sensible option to avoid injury, or telling myself that as a justification for stopping... Just want to keep myself accountable to you lovely folk

Adeyababa with ET
Hello friends, I am from Ethiopia and I take Asprin daily and ferrous sulfate daily. My platelet number was 987, 000 last month when I tested. I was covid positive in February and tested negative after 14 days of quarantine time. I am worried to decide to take my first AZ vaccine. I feel always fatigued

Severely weak. Can I try heme iron peptides?
Could my trembling/vibrations/debility be caused by iron deficiency as ferritin was 17 (saturation n iron stores also on lower side). I also feel cold. After taking iron, I feel almost normal for sometime n the trembling lessens too, then again feel weak by evening. if I don't take the iron in evening

Blood Test Results from GP, very ill and no diagnosis
Hello, Sorry I know some of these bloods will be irrelevant to the thyroid forum but posting just in case someone who knows better than me spots something. Background- I’ve been ill since 14, originally diagnosed with ME/CFS. Only thing that routinely showed up in tests was extremely low blood pressure

Magnesium and thyroid issues
Has anyone tried increasing their magnesium intake to help their body to heal? This would help readjust the balance in the body between calcium and magnesium as they work as antagonists (work in balance with each other). Magnesium is used in hundreds of processes in the body so if we don't have enough
