Where now? Advice on next steps
Hi, I'm now a few months into my "what's wrong with me" journey. In March my doctor thought I had thyroid issues based on my symptoms. My bloods came back and she diagnosed me with iron deficiency anaemia and folic acid deficiency. She said my thyroid was fine despite my free T3 being borderline (she

Best method of 'detoxing'?
I use Epsom salts in hot baths and drink lots of water, I also have an Everlast 'slimming' belt that helps me sweat. Anyone have a method that doesn't break the bank but gets the best results of helping our bodies shed the bad stuff in our systems?

Humira and other Inflammatory drugs
Hello, I have been taking Humira for 12 years. I have been wanting to cut down or get off it, but Drs kept pushing me to stay on it. Quietly, I started taking it every 3 weeks but only a small amount, I would insert needle, count 2 then withdraw it. After a few months I noticed that my body was coping

Various symptoms.....Hypothyroidism?
Hi everyone, I've been feeling unwell for a few months (well, more like over 2 years), but symptoms have worsened in the past few months. These include: joint pain/soreness and stiffness (bones feel tender to touch, mainly upper back, breastbone, arms, shoulder blade) severe and worsening acid reflux

Should I avoid liquid iron supplement with iodine in?
I have very low ferritin and was prescribed ferrous sulphate by GP (200mg x 3 a day) but I wanted to try a liquid one from natural food sources - some seem to have a very low level of iron (such as 15mg!) there seems to be a good one called 'Virginian organic liquid iron' from Victoria Health https:/

"She is only compensated euthyroid..."
Hi The above quote is from my endo to GP. Everyone was so helpful when I posted a few weeks ago re: my endo stopping my levothyroxine & ferrous sulphate for 8 weeks. It is now five and a half weeks and I am feeling pretty grim. Thanks to this forum, I have had new blood test results from MediCheck:

Magnesium levels and epsom salts
Hi, my mum's magnesium and sodium levels have been quite low the last few blood tests and she's taking magnesium supplements. However, I was wondering if anyone else has had low magnesium and what you did to help this. I read that bathing in epsom salts is a natural way for the body to soak up magnesium

New here... can I ask for some guidance, please?
Hi, I have recently begun taking b12 orally and not sure if I am taking enough. My b12 level is 190 (180-900), and my GP is not willing to treat me, but doesn't seem bothered whether I take supplements or not. I have been experiencing tiredness, lethargy, heavy and aching limbs, frequent headaches, mental

Giving in...reluctantly!
Not as dramatic as it sounds but thought I'd update you on my interesting few days...as some of you know I have had a few stressy episodes lately which I believe has contributed to a flare and am currently on 60mg Pred and excitedly waiting to see Dr Hughes at Chertsey on 15th May.... So last time I

Hi I've just had my results from Medichecks yesterday as GP won't test anything other than TSH. Bit of history, feeling very hypo since the Autumn. Persuaded doc to do the following in January: B12 401 (190 - 660) Folate 4.1 (3.9 - 26.8) Ferritin is 32.5 (24 - 400). I've been taking the following since

Treating low ferritin
Does anyone know of a more effective way to treat low ferritin than with ferrous sulphate please? Mines sitting at 16 (15-300) and I think it's causing some symptoms, but when I've tried in the past the ferrous sulphate gives me diarrhoea and also doesn't really get my number up very high (30 at most

Low levels but still in range.
Having recently been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid, people on the thyroid board suggested I post on here for advice as my B12 and folate levels are in range but only just. I've been on a 25mcg of levothyroxine for 3 weeks and can't feel any difference yet. I'm also taking 10,000 iu of D3 with
