Chest pains and breathlessness, cause by iron or thyroid?
Hi, I've posted a couple of times now and am still in the process of being diagnosed (all my blood results are in my first post https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/135174260/advice-for-talking-to-doctor). Thanks to everyone!
Sixteen months ago I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency after I asked the GP for a test, having read the PA symptoms and realised that I had many of them. I have Type II diabetes and this was being treated with metformin amongst other medications. I read that metformin blocks the absorption of B12 in

Iron deficiency and PV
Hi. I'm new to this Forum and am reassured to see that others are as confused as me about living with an MPN! My question relates to iron deficiency and PV. There seems to be a dearth of information out there! I was diagnosed with ET about four years ago. The diagnosis was revised to PV last Autumn

Update - different results via Private and NHS
Added this update to my original post then realised I'd be better off starting a new post....... Well following the great advice people on here gave me, I went back to my GP and asked to be retested. I got the earliest appointment and fasted and the results were almost identical to the original ones

An update on my husbands thyroid problem
We had an appointment today with the endocrinologist. They have taken bloods but in the mean time we have made our own discovery. Probaby should explain more that he has a benign tumour on his pituitary gland. For this he takes 125 levothyroxine and 20 hydrocortisone. The tumour was a side effect of

Very productive day.
Some morning's when I get the kids up I will sit about in my jammies but today I got dressed straight away as I was taking my mum swimming. After an hour at the pool came home got my house work done and dinner sorted and then back to the gym for my personal training session. We did a little cardio, but

Supplementing with Magnesium to ease depression
While this is not exactly a post regarding weight loss, I fear many of us suffer from depression and resulting comfort eating which contributes to our weight gains. Once we get some pounds on we become more depressed and the vicious cycle continues SO I hope this helps some of you :) I posted a comment

Help with when to take Iron, Vitamins and anti-depressants.
My Iron levels are rather low at the moment so I've been prescribed Ferrous Sulphate 200mg which I have to take 3 times a day. Can I take them all at the same time as fitting in 3 will be hard with my work and college schedule? I also need to fit it around taking Vitamin D, B12, B complex and 2 20,000mg

PROTEIN IN URINE
Hi everyone. I am turning to you for information again. I had my eleventh Avastin treatment today, but the nurse had to check with the onc first, as I had protein in my urine. I asked her what this signified but she wasn't really very forthcoming. Can anyone tell me what causes this and what the issues

Magnesium inbalance12 to 20-minute soakmight restore magnesium (this may benefit people who are at risk for low levels, including those with fibromyalgia) Just been reading and come across this in an article about Epsom salts. I do a foot bath as I only have a shower. But when I did take a full bath

It will take 6 weeks to get the withdrawal symptoms out of your system. I don't know what your symtoms are but I use magnesium citrate 150 mg 3 times a day. You can get a supplement called Calmlegs online. It's all natural or take vitamins B, C, E, and magnesium daily. If it's concentrated in your feet

Blood results - should I still switch to Erfa?
I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid in 2008 and been on levothyroxine ever since (200mg x 2 days a week, 100 the rest). I had some thyroidy-symptoms (inc hair loss, aching joints and fatigue) so saw an endo privately who prescribed Ertha, which i started two days ago. In the meantime, before
