Mononucleosis then
strep
throat
. Than told to act healthier according to what was in fashion at the time. I am 68. At one physical I was prescribed antibiotics and I told the physician that I would tell him when my white blood cell count was in range and then have a blood test.

Foot/mouth hand or something else??
Does anyone know what this is. It started with red burning spots then turned into patches. Then I had chicken like pox all over my body and face. Hands rashes are similar to feet. But my thumbs are going white too and thin skin. Anyone know what's happening. I'm very stressed. Doctors are not helping

Issues with cervical spine and no diagnosis
(I had been suffering from viral
strep
throat
at the same time as this issue, and I could no longer feel the pain of my swollen tonsils. Nor could I tell when I was experiencing nausea, which I experience on a regular basis due to stomach issues.)

Strep A and thyroid
Could
strep
A cause problems with thyroid? I had massive problems with
throat
in the spring and was dismissed by GP, but because I couldn’t get rid of it for 2 months she eventually did a swab which came back positive for strep A. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Concerned. Is this just bad luck??
Went to out of hours clinic the following day as I felt so awful and I've got a
strep
throat
infection again( more antibiotics) I've never suffered so badly for years. Is this bad luck ?? or should I be asking doc for further checks.

ended up leaving early
I was up all night with a sore
throat
, which made me scared I had Covid or
strep
. I think it was post nasal drip. I came home and it doesn’t hurt as much. I don’t have a fever. There are no white spots on my tonsils. I’m wondering if I was allergic to something in the house.

NDT for management of hypothyroidism in children?
I would like first of all to thank all who will read my post. I found this forum very useful a few years ago when I started searching more information about management of hypothyroidism. Our story started when my son was born with hypothyroidism, diagnosed in the first days of life after a stressful

Immunologist tomorrow! What to ask?
Hi all, My daughter, who has had Hashimoto's since she was 7, has been very unwell the last school year with constant
throat
infections, one that tested as
strep
, but the rest just general unwellness, fatigue, and also stomach problems, of feeling like nothing agrees with her/indigestion.

thrush……again
For the past three months I’ve been trying to get rid of a bad taste in my mouth. The roof of my mouth feels like I’ve burned my mouth on a too hot pizza. The middle of my tongue is coated the tip is somewhat red. My dentist said X-rays show no infection. GP looked in my mouth and said

horrible taste in mouth, nothing tastes good
After looking in my mouth, my GP said, I think you have thrush. A dentist had said an X-ray showed no tooth infection was causing the bad taste. GP prescribed nystatin. After taking it the bad taste is worse than ever, especially in the morning, and the area behind my top and bottom teeth feels

will it get better?
It started last Sunday when I had a terrible sore
throat
. I was tested for
strep
and it was negative. Just a really bad virus. Turned into pink eye. I got drops this Sunday and have been using them since. Being sick is a huge trigger for my anxiety for me. I have a fear of throwing up.

UKHSA update on scarlet fever and invasive Group A streptococcal infection
These bacteria also cause other respiratory and skin infections such as
strep
throat
and impetigo. In very rare occasions, the bacteria can get into the bloodstream and cause an illness called invasive Group A strep (iGAS).

Constant oral thrush on Fostair
I am constantly struggling with oral thrush on the roof of my mouth and now painfully in my throat. I take 2 puffs morning / 2 puffs night Fostair. I use a spacer, brush my teeth, rinse my mouth and it still keeps happening. Usually Nystatin works but this time (after finishing antibiotics) it’s not

Hypothyroid newbie. Horrible sinus cold/strep throat. Can’t take usual Sudafed with levothyroxine. Advice on how to feel better?
I was diagnosed in August and take 75 levothyroxine. I was supposed to have blood tests last Monday but rescheduled as taking teen to GP with strep tonsillitis. He got ten days antibiotics. For last few days I feel terrible, fever, sinus pain, blocked nose, sore throat and cough. I would usually

I haven’t posted here in a while because since last year I have made HUGE progress with healing my thyroid and hashimotos. I got on NDT, and upped my LDN. I changed diet and lifestyle stuff and FEEL so much better than last year. I lost weight, my skin cleared up, but I have also been through an immense

Update - why do answers take so long?!
ASO titre came back as elevated so had a course of antibiotics for potential
strep
throat
. Even tho no changes for the sore throats. Decided to go private, seen rheumatologist, suspects reactive arthritis, ordered more bloods and full viral screens (all clear).
