After looking in my mouth, my GP said, I think you have thrush. A dentist had said an X-ray showed no tooth infection was causing the bad taste. GP prescribed nystatin. After taking it the bad taste is worse than ever, especially in the morning, and the area behind my top and bottom teeth feels rough like what happens when you bite into a too-hot pizza. Nothing tastes good especially morning coffee.
Could the nystatin have done this and does it go away?
Thank you.

Every drug I take ( and I take lots) seems to give me a dry mouth which in turn gives me a horrible taste in my mouth. I find this sometimes quite an unbearable side effect., putting me off tea and coffee and quite a lot of food.
As far as I know I have never had oral thrush in the last 11 years of taking Pred.
I have had a bad taste for months now and fairly sure it's not teeth as I go 3monthly to hygienist. Imperial mints are good and at night I have a small spray bottle with mouth wash in it and give a blast when I move. Never thought to blame pred!
