JOINT PROBLEMS and CMT
I have had CMT for most of my adult life but was only diagnosed when I was in my late 40's. I am now 64. Doctors in South Africa don't seem to know much about this disease. All my joints seem to have been affected and I was wondering if there is anyone who has a similar problem. I had a total hip

Over range Serum Urea and Plasma Viscosity.
Hi Just picked up a print out of some blood results from Doctor. The tests were done in May when I had a bad virus. I am concerned my Serum Urea is over range at 8.6 range 3.0 - 7.6 (this was same result when tested a couple of months previously and Doctor told me to take in urine sample,

24 hour protein urine test
Hello everybody! I've just received my 24 hour urine test, and the result for protein is 3825. My rheumatologist prescribe the test because for two consecutive month my protein in urine was positive ++. Should I be worried because the range is <150. Has anyone face the same problem? Do you think I'm

SCD treatments.
As far as I know there is no cure for SCD. The Haematologists in the UK, try to manage the painful episodes with strong opioids e.g. OxyContin, morphine, Tramadol etc. They also try to keep you well hydrated with bags of saline and also increase your haemoglobin numbers by blood transfusions. My GP

Chronic chest pain that won't go away
I have been having chest pain since I did a colonoscopy in early May 2017. For the chest pain, a cardio doctor did all kinds of heart tests (ekg, echo test, stress test (with and without the dye), heart CT scan and two chest x-rays). The only things that were found was minimal pulmonary and triscupid

Confused
I have stage 3 ckd. My urine tests have always showed no protein or blood but this time my urine is positive for blood. My doctor has ordered an appointment with a urologist for a cystoscope. Why? No explaination given. In many articles that I have read having blood in your urine is a symptom of kidney

Evening everyone, hope today has been somewhat kind & gentle on all of you. 🤞🏻💛 I've been trying to write this post all day! Battling through the pain.. Anyway, I managed to speak to my doctor today. She couldn't fit me in to see her, but she could talk to me over the phone.. I mentioned my agony

Sinusitis/Rhinitis
Sinusitis third time in 18 months, been on Anti-biotics again, been told I need a Steroid nasal spray and to use it all the time (have to see how that goes) Dr said to put a warm mug of tea or whatever and hold it against your blocked sinuses on your face, the warmth loosens off the mucas and helps inflammation

Not sure if I should take Thyro Gold
I've been advised by my naturopath to start supplementing with Thyro Gold (2 x 150mgs) now that Nutri Thyroid (which I was taking for a short while) is unavailable. However, I'm clinically euthyroid (and always have been as far as the medical profession is concerned as TFTs have always been in range)

My consultant has recommended saline through a nebuliser, this I have had to buy, approx. £50, and is just like breathing in cold fog!! I can't see how this helps lung problems, any ideas?

Glucose in urine
My urine sample showed +1 for glucose on Tuesday and due to reduced foetal movement I was sent for a growth scan. At the growth scan, a urine esample was taken again and my urine glucose was +4. I asked for a finger prick blood test but was denied this and I'm told to go in for a glucose tolerance test
