Feel dreadful after AFib episode
However after nearly 3 years on
steroids
because I also have Polymyalgia and decreased mobility due to recently diagnosed Scoliosis of the spine I still have a lot of weight to lose.My Cardiologist said that because of my weight I would not be considered for an Ablation and he is reluctant to prescribe

PMR, travelling abroad, emergency pack of Pred ( “ sick day rules”) in case of illness
Even before I mentioned sick day rules ( he’d never heard of them and is to consult with his colleagues) GP saw no good reason why
steroids
should be increased in the event of illness in any event. I will be taking enough Pred with me in any event for unforeseen events but I’d be glad of thoughts.

Prednisone to Hydrocortisone
And not to take any more bone strengthening drugs…..The second thing I brought up was my to reduce
steroids
….. I was diagnosed with PMR in 2011. Have had had a rollercoaster of prednisone amounts. Around 3mg I start to get stiffness and fatigue.

I have the appointment on Thursday and am really worried in case they won’t give me
steroids
and another holiday will be ruined because of my plodding walking and aching body. Has anyone else been given
steroids
when they’ve had a negative blood test??

Asthma without infection
Treatment has been courses of antibiotics and
steroids
. I use DuoResp Spiromax 320/9 dry powder inhaler (and Salamol inhaler, when needed, not often). I also am in my 6th year of Permanent, though asymptomatic, Atrial Fibrillation after 22 years of Paroxysmal AF.

Brain fog, weakness meds or tumour?
I take
steroids
in the morning and Keppra at night and experience a constant brain fog and weakness to limbs which I am unsure as to whether it is due to the meds or the tumour. The brain fog is variable but appears worse if I don't sleep well.

I could have PMR…
At the hospital they gave me antibiotics intravenously and a shot of
steroids
and sent me home. I got better and had no further PMR symptoms. 4 weeks ago I started to get shoulder pain again. Mostly located on the left side, it came out of nowhere and I just seemed to wake up with it.

I’m currently researching topical
steroids
and trying stretching exercises to help. Does anyone have any experiences/advice with these and let me know how effective they are? Many thanks!

Feeling a little invalidated
I had acute exacerbation of asthma and needed more antibiotics and
steroids
. Anyway. It’s two weeks later and I have another week off. Hopefully I will be able to go back on MTX and then begin a new biologic (long story) before I go back to work. I’m still feeling a bit chesty though.

no pred. before an ultrasound? And increasing dose of pred.
(Thanks to a mix up at the pharmacy, I now have enough
steroids
to sink a ship...) I realise I am very fortunate compared with many of you, in that I now have no pain at all in my arms and legs. Thank you all so much for your support.

She didn't seem to take it on board that I have to be on
steroids
for the GCA & told me that they are causing me real problems with my eyes.

Asthma Appointment
The worrying thing for me was that she told me I'm taking
steroids
too often and that I could develop diabetes and is refusing to prescribe me another rescue pack.

It was caused because I attempted suicide in 1983 and the pills aspirated into my lungs so they had to give me massive doses of
steroids
to save my life and get me breathing again.

GCA now TIA, irregular heartbeat
Is this due to age, linked to GCA,
steroids
, bad luck? I eat a good diet, keep fit, balancing stresses better. It never ends. Definitely need to upgrade my dosage box now, so many tablets.
