Thanks to all here - split dose over 24 hrs evenly?
I know this is complicated in term of circadian rhythms and adrenal gc production but I would have thought taking all at once will produce an uneven level of
steroids
over 24 hrs whilst an overall level could be lower if spread out. Is that faulty reasoning ?Has anyone tried this ?

..... and now the next thing comes along !!
I have considered upping the
steroids
again as am currently down to 10mg to see if it makes any difference. All I can say is the pain has been unbearable especially at night time.

Autoimmune issues and IVF - a question
I see many women on here and other forums discussing all sorts of extra care like
steroids
, intralipids etc, and NK cell, Emma/Era testing among other things. My question is - can you have a successful IVF transfer/pregnancy with autoimmune issues and zero extra intervention?

Low carb diets
I wasn't prior to starting the
steroids
but as I'm now on 2 mg of Prednisolone a day and have been on 5 mg or less for over a year I suspect that Prednisolone is not the culprit. I've been looking at a diabetic website and it says that low carb is less than 130 mg a day.

Steroid Injection
She said I should stop oral
steroids
immediately and gave me a 120mg steroid injection in the hope that my body would reset itself with a bigger one shot dose. I realise it's only four days since I had the injection but my pain levels have slightly but noticeably increased and I'm concerned.

asthma & respiratory illnesses
Whenever I get any form of respiratory illness it goes straight to my chest and I need
steroids
and antibiotics and have asthma exacerbations not really attacks. Since catching covid in 2022 I’ve started having asthma attacks whenever I get a chest infection which I’ve informed my GP of.

how long is a long time
I have never seen a rheumatologist and haven't spoken to a doctor about my
steroids
since diagnoses. I do have fairly regular contact with my GP surgery as I am a type 2 diabetic, have Pernicious anemia, am anemic, high blood pressure under control with 3 different tablets.

Finally...🥳
Anyway, yesterday I finally injected my first dose of Kevzera (Sarilumab) ..so hoping it brings some much needed relief soon and I can get off these oral
steroids
which I don't want to be taking for any longer than I need too..but they have helped a lot.

Further Update After Flare
So.....bit of an update.....having had a dip in symptoms a couple of weeks after dropping from 12.5mg to 10mg of
steroids
I finally took the advice to bump back up from 10mg to 15mg in a bid to clear up whatever inflammation build up there is in my body having clearly gone too low too quickly......

different ideas - however the last GP just told me to carry on tapering myself - which I was happy about , but the go before him had refered me to Rhumatology and they’ve basically said doubtful I have PMR due to age, bloods etc but send the GP the guidelines to follow 🙄 by now it’s been a year on

Discussion with pharmacist
I informed her that my treatment plan was agreed by my consultant and after sometime of trying to get my asthma settled it was at the most stable it has been been without the need for oral
steroids
or frequent use of the reliever inhaler.

I was weaned off the magical
steroids
after about seven months into the disease. That was in Summer 2021. My condition appears to be stable.

Bad Back
Before PMR and Prednisone I suffered with my back but whilst on
steroids
I didn’t. I have had a painful and stiff back for the last week and am tempted to try my remaining Pred tablets for a couple of days. Any thoughts on this please ?
