just diagnosed with PMR following 5 weeks of painful legs and arms. First day yesterday of Pred and can’t believe how quickly the pain has improved. Bit worried about the effects of steroids but hopefully can manage without too many symptoms side effects. So pleased the pain has gone during the day

Rescue pack of prednisolone- when to start using them
Hi, This Tuesday I was prescribed a rescue pack of prednisolone (after much discussion with the GP, who eventually relented). I tested positive for covid on Thursday. I have always had a constant cough that produces lots of phlegm. I am currently waiting to see a consultant in July regarding this.

blood tests
haven’t posted in a while. Coping on 2 mg a day for a few years. I haven’t had a blood test since before covid. I have requested from time to time but been refused - I guess if I’m feeling ok then don’t worry. Is this usual when on long term steroids? As I get my pension this year I’m sure the general

Low TSH
I had a phone call on Friday asking me to come to an Endo appointment this Monday - unusual! It is a year since my last appointment but I suspect my endo has taken fright at my low TSH and will want to discuss stopping my prescription. My latest results were TSH 0.02 (0.35-4.94) Ft4 11.4 (9-19.1)

Tapering again.
Hi all 👋 It's been probably 18 months since I last dabbled in tapering. My rheumy has been keen for me to drop from 10mg per day to 9mg for months but I have had to resist during 12 months over stressful events. I am now ready (as ready as I'll ever be). My CRP was 3.7 four weeks ago and is 5.9

I had to have 5 cortisone injections into my ankle and metasal due to arthritis. I’ve noticed that since I had them my heart rate really drops. I’m 70 yrs old but noticed my resting heart rate drops to 44 - 56. It does rise during day. I had this before in February when I had a nerve block done. is

Reducing Effects
I just read DL’s very helpful article, Reducing Steroids & Activating the Adrenal Glands. So grateful for all the information and support here. It would’ve felt like walking through a dark and threatening forest without you all. I guess I’m reaching out for the usual reassurance and encouragement regarding

Hi I just wanted to tell everyone that you can finally be free of polymyalgia.I was diagnosed in 2020 and it was horrendous. However I now feel dreadful, yesterday I had to lie down at 12-30 and immediately fell asleep, I had a quick lunch, laid back down again and about 3pm fell asleep again until

Balancing symptoms and pred dosage?
Hi - MrPMR started on 20mg of Pred last Tuesday, had the typical 'spectacular' response, and went from barely walking/not able to turn over in bed, to being able to move with good fluidity and no pain. In the mornings he wakes up with stiffness, but can get out of bed, and move around, some pain (especially
