Increased tumor marker after radiotherapy
Afternoon all, I am currently on ibrance 75mg and letrozole. I had a mastectomy in June and radiotherapy which ended 20th August. On 20/8 my tumor marker was steadily going down to 41 but has now gone up to 51. Am somewhat anxious, could the radiotherapy have caused the marker to rise? Any comments gratefully

Sometimes, it is unsafe to wait for a biochemical recurrence; sometimes, it is safe to put it off. https://www.prostatecancer.news/2021/10/exceptions-to-early-salvage-radiation.html

Possible uptake after pet/scan but PSA is still 0.01?.
Hi Folks, I had a petscan in late August and 2 weeks later one of the Oncology team rang to say they were not sure but it looks like there maybe some uptake in the L2 where I had high dose radiotherapy last year & now have a spinal fracture of L2. Plus also possibly a spot in the Hip. I just had a

Breathless
Hi guys had my lung removed 13 weeks ago followed by 10 sessions of radiotherapy. Since radiotherapy I am very breathless worse than when I had my lung removed has anyone experienced this and if so didn’t get better. Doctor thinks it might but I’m not sure as it is 5 weeks since I finished radiotherapy

So it's finally happening. Tues and Wed 10/19 & 10/20 After endless delays, Jim finally gets his radiation treatment. Such a relief that it will be Dr Peter Carroll doing the surgical portion. Anxiety is high, but that helps a lot. Also Jim's latest PSA went to ultrasensitive test and is 0.04 Thanks

Phenytoin sodium long term links to cancer?
Hi, my girlfriend has epilepsy and was put on this drug about 7 years ago. She is 32 and since being on it she has undergone over a dozen surgeries, a hysterectomy and partial vulvectomy. Her consultant has advised it may be worth changing medication as they don’t understand why her cancer Has been so

Problems with stomach since latest treatment
Lately when I've been running, most of the time I find that within the first few minutes my stomach swells (gas I think) and make me very uncomfortable. My prostate was removed 3 years ago, I had radiotherapy and hormone therapy to follow. Since my latest treatment in January - sabre radiotherapy on

PSA after salvage radiation
Hi My husband has prostate cancer. I think we are in a good, wait and see place, but wanted to get your opinions. My husband had a RP in November of 2018. He never went to undetectable. So in the spring of 2019 he had ADT and salvage radiation treatment. For the last almost two years he was undetectable

Survival rates with external beam radiation therapy in newly diagnosed elderly metastatic prostate cancer patients
New German study below [1]. The elderly patients were at least 75 at diagnosis. Only 2 more years & I will finally be elderly. I wonder what it will be like? LOL. As a group, older guys obviously have shorter life expectancy, but there has to be a better way to define 'elderly' than age. What about

Muscle Loss During Androgen Deprivation Therapy Is Associated With Higher Risk of Non-Cancer Mortality in High-Risk Prostate Cancer
New study below [1]. Bottom line: "each 1% decrease in {skeletal muscle index} was independently associated with a 9% increase in the risk of non-cancer mortality" "Muscle loss during ADT is occult, independent of weight change, and independently associated with increased non-cancer mortality in patients

Finished RT, SBRT
My dear ones, I finished radio therapy on August 8th. On March 23, 2021, SBRT was performed on both aortic lymph nodes. I received TD 20 Gy (at 80% isodose), once, by arc technique (RapidArc) with furniture with kV-CBCT . In the period from 16 June to 9 August 2021, salvage radiotherapy was performed
