New tumour growth. Second like chemo
Hi there, my mum was diagnosed with GBM4 last year May 2021. She had surgery chemo and radiotherapy. At her recent appt with her consultant the latest MRI results show a new tumour, small just below the original one. We have been given some info about PCV combination of the chemotherapy drugs procarbazine

I am starting radiation on my breast on next month. I need to know has anyone suffered fatigue and pain while doing radiation treatment?

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I was diagnosed Teal stage prostate cancer last February. I have no symptoms. I did a lot of research & decided to choose radiation treatment, was referred to our local cancer center for IG-IMRT, but my treatment got delayed trying to authorize SpaceOar hydrogel procedure

My life has gotten much more complicated since Abiraterone suddenly quit working about 6 months ago
I just had the 4th of 6 Xofigo (Radium-223) injections last Wednesday. I feel like the pain from bone metastases is improving. I have also undergone 15 External Beam Radiation Therapy EBRT treatments during the same period. I had quite a bit of burn issues involving skin in and around the rectum, etc

SRS "Cyber knife" advice?
Hello all. My wife has TNBC with mets to lungs and brain. We have been putting off Stereo tactic Radiosurgery (SRS) as the brain mets were shrinking. This has lasted a few months but last scan shows possible progression of brain mets. Our Oncologist thinks now is the time to do SRS to the brain. We only

post treatment
It's now 3 weeks since my radiotherapy treatment ended and i understand that the treatment continues to work. When i have my next appointment at the hospital i was told that i wont have a scan or x ray so was wondering how the doctors will know how the treatment has progressed.

30 months with PCA - experiences with ADT, Docetaxel, Xtandi / Nubeqa, Provenge and experimental immunotherapy trial.
Hi, I posted for the first time on this forum after my father (59) was diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer in November of 2019. I want to share our progress in this fight so far so that it can be added to the repository and used by others down the line to make informed decisions about treatment

Radiotherapy and adhesive dressings
Hi, I am having radiotherapy to breast/chestwall skin mets. I have an adhesive dressing in place and was advised at the planning appointment that the dressings would need to be off for radiotherapy to that area. A "bolus" is being used to enhance the dose to the skin. Attending for treatment, I have

Time for action?
Hi It’s been 4 years since my last contact with this site (though I view it daily). Over that time my PSA has been slowly, but surely, edging up. My history in brief is dx Dec2013 with PSA 5.1 G9Tb3 PNI ECE. Had 78gy of radiation therapy early in 2014 and 3 years on Lupron (finished Feb/2017). No

Recommendations for ROs and MOs in Houston
I’d like to request the names of one or more good ROs and MOs in or near Houston, TX (not at MD Anderson). My husband (age 71) was diagnosed with highly aggressive PC in late December 2021. Gleason Score 9 (4+5), PSA was 12.5. CT and bone scans indicated no metastasis but PSMA PET scan indicated

Dealing with my sister's diagnosis
Hi everyone, I am new to the site. My beautiful sister was diagnosed with GBM in January just after her 62nd birthday. She has had surgery and six weeks of radiotherapy, chemotherapy which seems to be the norm. She has been so positive throughout this but as soon as her treatment finished a couple

When should ADT be given with SBRT?, Some SBRT news, looking at Radiosensitizers in Prostate Cancer treatment
Greetings FPC folk, It has been months since my last post, and I thought I would post something near to my situation and pick your brains on the issues... I am nearing the end of my 20 month vacation as my PSA has risen to about 0.7 now, and I had a Pylarify scan showing one lesion so I remain oligometastatic

Current Consensus on Metformin and Berberine?
I've been studying Metformin (not Berberine, yet). My conclusion reading all the latest studies, especially the large meta-studies, is that evidence is weak on Metformin having a significant positive effect BY ITSELF. There appears to be significant evidence it has a positive effect when used synergistically

Anal sex after LDR brachy
Am posting because I've seen various posts and questions about anal sex after radiotherapy (and prostatectomy), some of which were positive experiences, others not. I think it's an important issue to relay experiences about. I had LDR brachytherapy four days into the new year, and wrote all about it

Watch and wait vs radiation
I had large meningioma removed 3 months ago. The radiologist suggested i start radiation treatment preemptively, since i had a grade 2 meningioma. Should i watch and wait or get radiation? Thanks :)

I HAVE HUNG UP MY RUNNING SHOES
It is approaching nine years since I discovered C25k and subsequently this forum and the combination of the two changed my life in more positive ways than I could ever imagine. From a 57 year old who thought that running might be a lesser necessary evil than heading off to the gym to maintain stamina
