Iron storage and use
My cancer and treatment have brought me to the point where I'm anemic. My hemoglobin is at 8.2 g/dl, and my serum iron at 21 mg/dl. At the same time my ferritin is 1295 ng/ml. My body is storing the iron in ferritin, rather than using it to create blood cells. I understand that this is seen with cancer

The GP’s are not extinct but are alive and in the surgery - !
Just managed to see my GP today. Have usually had call back from a nurse over the last 2 years but today saw one. Got a prescription and they actually had the new medication in the pharmacy - what a good day today is turning out to be. I only went for a perpetually itchy patch on my thigh but it’s

RLS symptoms spreading
The earliest occurrence of RLS during the mid-teens, but were controllable without medication since I kept it to myself. During radiotherapy for prostate cancer, they emerged at age 62 years. I started taking ropinirole up to 4mg then Rotigotine and clonazepam since. Episodes of RLS randomly occur

Oligo metastatic BCR, looking for options.
Hi, i would like to hear if anyone here has been diagnosed with oligo metastatic prostate cancer. What kind of treatment were you offered? It's my understanding this can be treated with SBRT, but is it common, and is it even an option in any European countries? Initial diagnosis was in 2017, Gleason

Covid vaccine induced myocarditis, be my ailment, my own diagnosis.
After having the Covid Booster vaccine, 5 hours after this I started coughing blood up, not done that since first diagnosed with LC (I have Lung cancer, but a week prior my CT results came through as a (NED) no evidence of disease), so could not be caused by the tumour as Radiation therapy has eradicated

Doctor Options
I have been watching this forum a few months and learning a great deal. I was diagnosed in October 2021, Gleason 8, cribriform, pni. Started firmagon and zytiga in early December. Decided that HDR + Ebrt was my best radiation treatment option, primarily because a median lobe presented issues for seed

Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy treatment affecting my lungs.
I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer in 2018. I had Chemo, lumpectomy and radiotherapy. My lungs have been damaged a lot after my cancer treatment. I started experiencing shortness of breath a month after radiotherapy and it got worse over a few months. Now I am diagnosed with Hypersensitivity

PMR and cancer treatment
I have been taking Pred since Nov 21. Started at 15mg and have managed to taper to 10mg. A little bit of shoulder stiffness but so far ok. I have now been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be having surgery in a couple of weeks. I spoke to my GP as I was supposed to start tapering further and told

First scan results since WBRT
Good afternoon everyone. Today I received the results of my first brain MRI since I had WBRT in November and my CT, first one since july. MRI shows all mets have shrunk following radiotherapy and the build up of fluid that was causing pressure headaches has resolved, phew! The abdomen/thorax CT shows

Risks of RT for bowel/bladder damage
I am new to the forum, and I expect to begin Radiation Therapy in March or April after two months of ADT. Among the many disturbing aspects of the treatment are the side effects of RT. Can anyone direct me to info on the risk of RT damaging the colon, bladder or rectum and then requiring even more disturbing
