Taking the win...
Well after a weekend of anxiety and high emotional strain, dad saw his oncologist and three months post ADT and radiation treatment his PSA is down to 0.04 from 1.4. This is a win yeah ? Some breathing space anyway...

Holidays( Booking them when you don’t know What sort of treatment you are going to be on)
Ok I am probably feeling a bit sorry for myself but would like to know how others (especially in UK sort out holiday) Iam greatful to be alive, but last October I had booked the same villa we go to every year in a small village in Crete. In November I found out that my breast cancer had metastasised

Radiotherapy
Hi had a lumpectomy yesterday, the surgeon said I was borderline for radiotherapy. Please can you cross your fingers that I don’t need it. 💐🤞

I am suffering shortness of breath and abdominal bloating
Hi, I’m new here though my breast cancer diagnosis was many years ago in 2004 when I was 43, I had the usual investigations followed by lumpectomy, mastectomy and axillary clearance then chemo and radiotherapy, I am so lucky to have remained cancer free, it was triple negative, grade 3, stage 2 if I

Bit of a rant (sorry!)
So I realise this is going to be abit of a rant/pity party for one but reading the posts and opinions of all you lovely people always makes me feel better and I feel like I need to get everything off my chest. So sorry in advance! 😆 Long story short I had the Ozurdex steroid implant put in my eye in

How long do side effects of salvage radiation last after completing course of radiation?
Still getting severe stomach cramps and diarrhea about every other day. It's been 2 weeks since last radiation treatment. Just wondering what others have experienced after radiation and how long before side effects went away. Thanks

I got my tattoos and . . . unfortunate news
It was a bit of a struggle with urinary urgency issues, but I made it through my radiation simulation on June 17th and got my three tiny freckle tattoos used for body positioning. The following is basically a data dump to my URO so that he could plan the next investigations into my urgency issue: "This

LAST CHEMOTHERAPY
Tomorrow is my last chemo!!! In a strange way I’m looking forward to tomorrow.... I start 20 rounds of radiotherapy on 4th July. Any advice on radiotherapy or what expect from side effects? Are they easier than chemo? Had conflicting advice off people.

Disappointed in the first visit to MO
Did you ever see a new doctor and come away with the feeling that you just didn’t ‘connect’? I’m still processing exactly why. First, it didn’t seem to me like he had reviewed my chart beforehand. Decades ago, I made a decision to have all my doctors be a part of the University of Texas Health Science

Update on my disease: <0.1 PSA today
I haven't posted anything since my first post last October. Today is a good day for an update as I just finished radiation therapy and got my latest test result showing a <0.1 PSA! This is down from a high of 345 in early October. My initial biopsy confirmed Gleason 9 (4+5) in two cores and all cores

SIRT therapy for non-resectable colorectal metastases in the liver- British Liver Trust request for help with survey.
Have you had selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) for non-resectable colorectal metastases in the liver? Colorectal liver metastasis is cancer of the bowel that has spread to the liver. Selective internal radiation therapy (known as SIRT) involves injecting tiny radioactive ‘beads’ into blood

Bloated belly linked to hypothyroidism?
Aside from the 14 pounds, I gained from hypothyroidism, my belly is very bloated. Tested for Celiac: negative / had an endoscopy: all okay. Now Doc wants me to do a colonoscopy. I strongly suspect all will be okay there too and that it might be related to thyroid, or lack of. I had radiation therapy
