I am now reconsidering taking
Statins
and I’ve been searching the internet for information on whether
statins
help to slow or increase the progression of Chronic Kidney disease and I am left confused. There seems to be NO overall conclusive evidence in the articles I’ve read.

pbc and statins
Was put on
statins
for high cholesterol but these brought on a weird itch so stopped taking
statins
. I also take 20mg pantoprazole daily for reflux, which I can’t do without. My ferritin is low at 21. Just wanted to know if people take
statins
/ppi with pbc and how they affect you,

Another meds review (statins)
He did explain that for someone with history of HA that
statins
were important but stressed that it's at the maximum tolerated level. We have agreed that I will go back to Atovastatin, the pain was less intense on that, but at 20mg only to begin with.

A Win for the NHS - today at least & Questions for you
Specifically - do I take
Statins
? Of course the answer is NO to the stains but I do know that some antibiotics will affect the efficacy of some of the drugs used to treat AF. Do you know which?

Confused and anxious
I told Consultant didn't wish to take
statins
until a firm diagnosis was made. Further tests were 24 ambulatory, which came back quite positive, ultrasound which didn't cause any concerns.

Lp(a) results are in ….
My LDL cholesterol has not been able to reach the target of 1.4 despite the maximum doses of
statins
. My LP(a) result is in and it is 308.5 mg/dl which, if I am correct, makes it very, very high and will probably explain why I had a heart attack at such a young age.

Latest NHS Bloods
I've stopped
statins
due to side effects and doubts about their efficacy. 3 weeks ago had an NHS Blood test, initially the lab lost results and then I only got the levels - no range. However I've added on the ranges from previous tests.

CT results / PFO
They have written to say I should stop the aspirin and beta blockers but remain on the
statins
. However, I am still left with a racing heart beat, breathless and no energy. The letter did mention a small PFO and to wait for an Echo (these are on a 12 month wait in my area!)

I have had RLS for close to 20 years and it has progressively got worse. I am on Pexola 1mg at night. I had heart surgery six years ago and am on 5mg of Zuvamor as a precautionary measure. Should I rather take my heart medication in the morning as I am now reading that it can affect the RLS?

Statins.
My question is after all that has anybody else experienced these awful pains, muscle twitching and burning feet if they have stopped their
statins
. I am normally a very compliant patient but not sleeping has been really dragging me down.

how statins slow growth of prostate
My personal experience is that by taking Repatha, a relatively new drug that lowers cholesterol dramatically --more than
statins
-- has increased my PSA doubling time to 18.8 months, from an initial 1 month!
