Dear healthunlocked it been a while since I posted but alway follow and read the useful insights discussed within this group.

I would once again like to ask for advice regarding my blood results.

Upon discussion with the GP while there with another concern. The GP said my 75 mcg medication needed to be upped to a 100 mcg I was on a 100 a while ago and it was taken back down to 75mcg.

I do self medicate with T3 and I feel this keeps me optimal

After the GP had conferred with another Dr she phoned to say I was to be kept on the 75 mcg dose and it was not to be upped to 100mcg

Since lowering the dose to 75 mcg I am now on statins 20 mcg and 5 mcg of Amlodipine blood pressure tablets

My result clearly look borderline to me.?

I have another appointment on Friday so any advice before hand shall be freely received.

Thanks I’m advance.

Your TSH doesn't correspond to your very low FT4 because you are taking T3. Does your doctor know you're taking T3? But, obviously you're not taking enough of it if your cholesterol is high - high cholesterol is a symptom of low FT3, not a disease, so you should not be taking statins - they can cause more problems than they solve!

You really do need that increase in levo. But your doctors are only looking at the TSH and deciding that an increase will take it down below range, and they are terrified of a low TSH! So, in your place, I would just increase the T3 and forget about the increase in levo. :)

Thank you for succinct reply , I understand this and welcome the news which I agree to but didn’t have the knowledge to interpret.. I shall up my dose and split into am & pm I only take 12.5 T3. So taking it up to and maybe gradually above the 25mcg over a period of time to see how I feel because at the moment I have having the dip in the days like when I first got diagnosed. Just like deflating a ballon. Not that I am a balloon.

You're welcome. :)

But, don't increase T3 by more than 6.25 mcg at a time. The body needs small increases and time to get used to it.

If you are taking both levo & T3 then you really do need to see a full thyroid panel of TSH, FT4 & FT3.

Your TSH is within range which usually on a combination treatment would be below range or suppressed. So clearly you aren't on enough of either T3 or Levo or both and your GP keeping your TSH within range isn't going to be helping.

Cholesterol will rise without enough thyroid hormone.

So next thing would be to get a full panel run privately to include your vitamin levels - ferritin, folate, B12 & D3.

When hypo we get low stomach acid which means we cannot absorb vitamins well from our food, regardless of a great diet. For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL levels of vitamins. Have you recently or could you ask your GP to test levels of ferritin, folate, B12 & D3? Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...

There is also a new company offering walk in (includes free blood draw) & mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...

Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.
