New cholesterol lowering drug
Statins
are first-line agents for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. However, muscle-related side effects and other problems such as elevated liver enzymes may limit their use. In addition, LDL-C lowering beyond that provided by statin therapy alone may be needed.

New, first diagnosed back in 2005
Want to know more about taking levo, anti depressants and
statins
together. I've never been on a statin drug before. I believe I had a very bad reaction so I stopped taking it. Trying to work through a mental block to go back to the doc. Had some BAD experiences with healthcare people here.

How can they say it’s cirrhosis?
So, just to re-cap: - Dad is 74 and is a light to moderate drinker (12-17 units a week) - He doesn’t take any meds except
statins
- He is slim and runs 15 miles a week (and did so three weeks back). - Dad wasn’t in pain but felt slightly ‘yukky’ - mainly if he overate. No real pain, no sickness.

statins
! After 1st injection I have chest tightness and intermittent breathlessness. I had the same with

How important are the

? I'd be grateful if anyone can explain it to me. Thank you.

Taking
statins
prophylactically and not had a heart attack? Extra lifespan 3 days. (All statistics referenced by Dr. Kendrick). Do you prefer Professor Rory Collins' and his take? Look up how much he is in the pocket of big pharma and the 'research' grants he's enjoyed.

Low iron high cholesterol
My cholesterol is very high after taking 40 mgs of
statins
a day. Just found out my iron is low. I have googled a few things about it but haven't found out much.

Statins and general update!
I am thinking it is high, they don't want to tell me, and they want me in to discuss putting me on
statins
! (I really am not keen). I did have 7+ reading prior to ski accident and got down to 11 stone 4 and 5+ cholesterol.

Endocrinologist visit
The blood test results are TSH 0.18 Free T4 11.3 Free T3 3.9 Total cholesterol 7 , HDL 1.9 , non HDL 5.1 ratio for HbA1c 36mmol/mol Outcome Advised that the lipids are off target I need a Q risk2 score and to consider
statins
Many thanks in anticipation

My cholesterol results
I was put on 40mg
statins
in may 2018 after the shock of a 99%blockage in my LAD and the usual stent procedure that then followed. I disagreed with taking
statins
and dropped my cholesterol from 5.2 to 4.3 with diet alone in 4weeks...Sadly I was pushed to go on them by cardiologist.
