I have been taking rosuvastatin and ibrutinib for a year now with no issue. My ibrutinib comes through a specialty pharmacy and before I started I had extensive interview with their staff pharmacist which included reviewing any other drugs I am taking to see if they are contraindicated.
I don’t think the info from the label you posted contraindicates taking the two together. To be safe, you should discuss this both with your prescribing doctor and pharmacist.
I've been on Ibrutinib for 9 months and have taken Simvastatin throughout with no apparent problems. My CLL specialist and the pharmacy are aware I'm on it and raised no issue with it. Hope that helps.
I am on ibrutinib and take lovastatin. Both my doctor and pharmacist said there was no problem. I’ve been on ibrutinib for eight months with no problems.
My wife is on ibrutinib 420 mg and 20 mg rosuvastatin daily, as prescribed, with no il effects. Trust your doctor.
The leaflets accompanying most medications would deter you from taking them but pharmaceutical companies either don’t have the data or are just covering themselves.
I have been on Ibrutinib for almost a year and Simvastatin for many years. I was only told about the potential conflict a few days ago and was advised to contact my GP ro arrange an alternate (ie non statin) drug. I have been suffering some side effects from the Ibrutinib. Whether these are linked to taking Simvastation I do not know at this stage.
