Hello

Just wondering what people are taking for Heart Failure??

I take Candesartan 8 mg Bisoprolol 5 mg, Asprin75mg, Furosemide 20mg, Eplerenone 50mg, Isosorbide Mononitrate 60mg modified release tablets. Just wondering if this is the standard medication/dose for Heart Failure.

Hi that's a lot I have ramipril, ferusomide, bisoprolol and spirolactane, at the moment, never sure when they will change it again, they don't make me feel great, I have low blood pressure in general, and they just make it worse

Hi, I don't have heart failure so can't comment on that part.

Can I suggest you read all the leaflets around your meds. Some will have side effects you will recognise, GP's are over worked and can only go on what you tell them you feel, there are alternative medications available. I've been reasonably lucky with mine so far

Hi Prada 47. I was diagnosed with Significant Heart Failure in January. After numerous tests they said I have Coronary Heart Disease and Unstable Angina. I've been prescribed; Bisoprolol Fumarate 2.5mg. Clopidogrel 75mg. Isosorbide Mononitrate 10mg. Simvastatin 40mg. I was told I have to take all these meds for the rest of my life. Glyceryl Trinitrate Spray 400mcg when required. It's been a big shock for me and my family. Never expected this diagnosis. Hope you are feeling ok.

Hi, I was prescribed ferusomide and ramipril recently as I've developed congestive heart failure whilst waiting 10 months for a mitral valve repair. The ramipril has made me feel unwell with side effects so I'm waiting to see my dr for an alternative.

Hello Shopgirl

When I was on Ramipril I developed the " Cough " a known side effect of Ramipril, my GP changed Ramipril to Candesartan and cough just went away within 48 hours magic. Feel much better on Candesartan.

Regards
