First appointment at St Thomas'
Well folks, the day has arrived, I'm off to see the Pain Service at St Thomas' this afternoon for assessment. They will be assessing whether I am a candidate for Spinal Cord Stimulation ( SCS) and I'm at that jangly and overwhelmed place of really not wanting to go, not having the stomach for yet more

Where to from here ?
As someone who has previously proffered advice, on this occasion I need some from you guys. I have longstanding acute pain issues, spanning the last 11 years. Following two serious car accidents, the pain across my limbs increased significantly over time and I went from the maximum doses of Tramadol

Recently diagnosed with AMN
Tests, tests, tests. 8 MRI tests,
spinal
tap
, everything. Hereditary Spastic Paraparesia. A big shock. Medicine? Clonazepam and Baclofen. To be fair, the Baclofen did ease the spasticity somewhat, less foot-drop. But, at the cost of me being spaced the entire time.

Myofascial pain syndrome? & persistent knot in calf
I just posted this also on the Patient.co.uk/forum, but thought I would post it here too, so here goes: One of my first PMR symptoms was what I thought was a horrible cramp in my left calf, but it never went away, and was extremely painful when walking. Feeling downhearted.
I had a two level spinal fusion in December, 18 months after I had a disc replaced in my lower back, apart from the usual post-op pain and discomfort I felt I was doing very well. Then 10 weeks post-op I suffered a severe episode of lower back pain so bad I couldn't straighten out or get up from where

At long last
Pete has his operation date for his spinal cord stimulator to be fitted at long last. After waiting for almost 2 years he is to go into Southampton Hospital on Wednesday 20th May. I now just have to keep him well and hope all will be fine. Thanks to all who have followed this saga. Stay well all. xxx

Spinal cord stimulation
Hi, I need advice on who to contact in the nhs to be put forward for spinal cord stimulation. I am not a confident person and am worried I would be turned down and not have the knowledge to back myself up with knowledge and facts to show I should be considered. I don't know anyone who has had this done

Introducing myself
Hello I’m new to this site although I posted the letter from my cousin to make you laugh like I did or at least smile. I hope that you do not feel this self-indulgent but this is the only way I can let you see why I feel as I do. In the 1970’s I fell through a trapdoor during a performance thus ending

Muscle spasms
Hi there, I've had major spinal surgery about 11 months ago, with a lot of metalware now holding my back stable, and I was thinking these muscle spasms and stretching are due to this but I'm so confused. I've been having these horrible spasm attacks day and night and I have to keep stretching my whole

Thoughts on my blood tests
Hi everyone, I have posted recently - I am currently undiagnosed, but due to a doctor who is unsympathetic, I am paying to see a Cons Endo recommended on here in a few weeks. My main issues: severe migratory pain, fatigue, feeling cold, poor memory and lack of ability to co-ordinate my thoughts.
