Pleased with myself then .....
I've been under the care of a really good pain consultant for nearly a year now. One of the things he explained to me is how too much medication can in fact amplify your pain instead of stopping it. So I stopped my oramorph and have been steadily decreasing my dose of MST (morphine sulphate tablets)

Hi all, today I went into the changing rooms of a shop to try on a shawl. I could not believe how enormous I am. I was 11st (5' 6'') 3 years ago when I began suffering from excruciating sciatica. I quickly became debilitated and so just sat around comfort eating for 2 years until spinal surgery finally

Is this true
I'm new on here even though I've been diagnosed as hypothyroid 16 years ago. I've just asked my doctor to do TPA and TgAb as well as all the other tests. She says I can't have TgAb as its a cancer test is this correct? I've been feeling really ill since my menopause about 4 years ago. Since being on

Extreme Penile Pain - Suspecting Pudendal Nerve Entrapment - Seeking Advice and Hope
Hello everyone, My name is David, I'm 24 and I live in LA. About six months or so, I developed a distinct pain at the head/tip of my penis. I was sexually active at the time, so I figured I may have caught an STD or maybe just had UTI. Got tested for multiple STDs and infections by various urologists

Neuropathy Prick sensations changing
My white matter on my brain has demylation so I will have another MRI and a
spinal
tap
in tne next week. I have regained a TON more energy which I think is a result of the folate in the Metanx. My brain fog is less, but still present. Dizzy moments throughout tne day.

Hashimoto's & high blood pressure
Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone out there has Hashimoto's and high blood pressure. I recently had a NHS health check and I had high blood pressure 158/83 (my blood pressure previously has always been normal or low). Went to Drs yesterday to get it checked at their request. It's still high 150/80

New to community & this is my meningitis story
I barely remember the
spinal
tap
. All I know is my doc told me I was very lucky to be alive because my viral load was off the charts. She said if I had been at home they wouldn't have revived me. It took from October to January for me to fully recover.

Sheila Turner, Thyroid Patient Advocacy UK
Sheila's daughter has posted an update on her health on the tpauk.com forum, page 10 of the 'Sheila' thread. I'm afraid it's not good news. Susan has requested that anyone who knows or has met Sheila send her a letter to let her know that we remember her and her work with TPA.

Crunch time!
I have just been diagnosed with degenerative hip problems, lordosis (excessive curvature of the lumbar spine), scoliosis of the lumbar spine, spina bifida occulta (hidden) and I have a 25-50% slip of my 5th lumbar vertebrae. All this is resulting in spinal fusion surgery in the new year which is major

DNA study lays bare devastating damage caused by smoking
But its flawed and wrong just to blame smoking. Here's why in my opinion benzopyrene is found in petrol diesel fuel also coal tar FOR years the used coal tar to dye white car tyres black So if smoking dont get you you can bet your last £1 or $1 something else will do. Guess we all DNA predisposed LIKE

Lithotripsy and Spinal Fusions
My name is Karen and I have a history of kidney stones. The last kidney stone was a 16 mm stone and took two lithotripsy's to break it up. I have also had a lumbar fusion L5 & S1 in 2001 and my latest x-ray showed a post surgical change in the Lumbosacral spine. This was noted from X-rays done between
