Compression Fracture of L1 vertebrae and chronic back pain
Hello, first time posting here. Has anyone had ongoing severe chronic back pain from breaking their back? Four years ago a wave at the beach dumped me into the ground breaking my back (L1). It was classed as stable so I was put in a back brace for 5 months. It was excruciating pain. Even though my spinal

COPD
During the last week I have been short of breath which is causing my anxiety attacks, I've lost about 18lb in just over a week because the anxiety is driving me nuts, I am pretty sure I have COPD but of course with being the time of year getting PFT's would be near impossible. I went to the ER the other

Spinal Cord Stimulator update
Well, this thing that has been on the horizon for such a long time now is right in front of my nose! I'll be going into St Thomas' Thursday afternoon to have the trial stimulator fitted on Friday. It's a two week trial of a Nevro high frequency, which means there will be no buzzing or tingling - which

So Far, So Good.
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great Xmas. I only joined this group recently after finding it in the net last week. Although it was sad to read how badly people were suffering, it was also a relief to read that I'm not crazy! My story is similar to most. I'm 34, and my RLS started when I was in my

Osteopathic treatment
Hello, first time I've posted. I've had chronic back pain, now widespread pain for many years. I had a spinal fusion 6 years ago, successful at first, then 18 months later symptoms increased again. I've had all the usual Nhs treatment including caudal epidurals. I'm currently trying to reduce my meds

Are supplements causing a reaction?
Hi I am taking the following Jarrows supplements: B-Right, Methyl Folate & Methyl B12 together with calcium, magnesium, zinc, biotin, COD liver oil with A & D vits. I also take propranolol for migraines. The Jarrows items have only been added in the last month. Has anyone experienced an all over rash

Hemoglobin iron count.
Hi For the past 3 years I have been seeing a blood specialist every 3 months, back in 2012 my iron and hemoglobin was that low I had a blood transfusion, ever since my hemoglobin count is up and down like a yo yo, I'm on iron and vitamin c tablets, 1 per day, they are at a loss to what's causing this

Agonising Upper Back Pain
Hi, I have had Pmr for 17 months now and am currently on 9mg Pred. I have developed almost crippling pain in my upper back, it feels like my ribs are sliding about and I keep getting stuck. I have had a Spinal Fusion in the past, so of course I am worried about this. I think I need an xray, but my GP

Only half of blood test results
After being diagnosed borderline hypo , getting horrendous symptoms, and after a lot of faffing about back and forward from the GP and insisting on referral to an Endo, I started taking 25mg levo in July, then upped to 50mg from Sept on advice of Endo and he said to have a further blood test 3 months

Update on my alternative therapies
I wrote a long post yesterday but it appears not to have posted successfully, so forgive me if this turns out to be a duplication. PMR: I have had my fourth low level light treatment. The physiotherapist says the muscles in my back are more relaxed than they were when I started, and certainly my back

Hello Everyone, I haven't posted for a while but have been checking in with you all everyday and responding to a few posts. I've been quiet because I've been trying to get my head around the long process of surgery and recovery ahead as it looks like I'll be going for the Spinal Cord Stimulator surgery
