Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great Xmas. I only joined this group recently after finding it in the net last week. Although it was sad to read how badly people were suffering, it was also a relief to read that I'm not crazy! My story is similar to most. I'm 34, and my RLS started when I was in my teens. At first I can remember only getting the symptoms, once or twice in a year, and slowly it has become more frequent and intense. I'm pretty much 7 out of 7 in a week now. The only lucky thing for me, is that my partner is a strong sleeper, so it doesn't affect her and I am able to get by of about 3 hours sleep a night. Basically I end up so exhausted, I'll end up getting one really good sleep in a week. Like most that I have read on here, I wanted to avoid going to the Dr's for meds, as I was worried about some de affects, so before I did I thought I would try a few things. The first thing I tried was acupuncture, which to my surprise was very affective. I tried this back in May, and to my surprise it worked incredibly well. The only downfall was its also expensive!!! I was paying £35 a week, on top of a new mortgage. Which eventually I had to stop. I was impressed with the results though, it wasn't perfect but it did make a huge difference. Unfortunately after not going for a few weeks it was right back to normal. In fact in the last couple of weeks, I have had my symptoms more than ever. I thought I would have one last try with something else before I went to the doctor. So here is what I did.... I'm sure like me you've all read on the net somewhere about certain vitamin supplements that might help with symptoms? So previously I'd tried a few of these, magnesium, iron & so on. Last week I spent two hours looking through web pages & found a list of supplements and rather than do trial & error on which ones may help, I bought the lot and am taking each of them daily. At the moment, I have not had symptoms for 3 days. My sleep has been amazing!!!! The killer thing was, I bought them all for £35 online, and they'll last about 6 months! I know 3 days isn't long, but I can't remember the last time I went 3 days without symptoms. The list was all purchased online in tablet form &goes like this.... Magnesium, Folic Acid, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Multi Vitamins & Iron, Calcium, Vitamin D3 & cod liver oil. Some of those mentioned above are not mentioned in association with RLS, but I threw them in for the extra benefits. That's the beauty about giving this a shot, these are not medications, they are supplements, so even if they don't work for you, there are fringe benefits for your body anyway. Might be worth trying. I'm from the UK, ordered the lot online for £35.

I wish you well, would please keep us posted on how the supplements your taking are still working thank you and good luck
So it's been a few months now, and I have to say it's been going really well. I have kept up with my supplements, and the improvements for me have been awesome. Not perfect, I still get 1 or two episodes a week, but when I do now they're mild and don't last too long. Considering I was getting episodes every night, I'm very happy.
