Has the Pulsed Field Ablation technique increased success rate?
Although Flecainide 50mg bid has kept AF episodes to a much lower frequency, 6 in ‘23, I’d like to hear from a few more of you who have undergone this new procedure. What are the results; is the blanking period shorter; anyone had it done at Royal Bournemouth Hospital? I hear reports that it’s much

What TSH level is too low on NDT + low sodium
Hi All, I switched to NDT 6 weeks ago and have been dialing in my dose. I take Erfa NDT. I raised it up to 1 3/4 tablets, and have just tested my thyroid. I've read a lot of discussions here about NDT and TSH and from what I understand, from this big study when TSH gets lower than 0.3, it increases

Migraine and visual hallucinations
I’ve suffered with migraines for many years since I was about 11 (I’m 35 now). Anyway as I’ve gotten older they’ve thankfully become less frequent and severe (though I take propranalol to prevent). I had an attack begin late last night with my usual blind spots and visual disturbance. It was bed time

Just diagnosed this week
Hi Glaucoma community,I have been diagnosed with early stage glaucoma this week, in one eye. I'm 46 years old, female. My eye pressures in both eyes were 21 - so borderline from what I understand. I had a central retinal vein occlusion in my right eye in 2016 and saw a consultant for18 months until it

Can’t sleep
I was diagnosed in May of this year.. Started with double vision. I also have seizures, mostly controlled. I can’t sleep hardly at all. Tried several meds, nothing. Very frustrating. I get maybe 3, maybe 4 hours if lucky. There have been some nights I haven’t slept at all? Anyone else have

Chemo Update March 27, 2024
I was treated with 6 rounds of docetaxel in 2017/2018 when I was HSPC and I responded exceptionally well. I have been CRPC since 2022 and have tried abiraterone and Radium 223 (Xofigo). I just completed 7 rounds of docetaxel again and PSA went from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds then started doubling. Now

Carbomer eye gel
Good morning. I was at the ophthalmologist yesterday getting umpteen scans and things due to taking hydroxychloroquine. I have very dry eyes once the UV starts to increase (usually February so bang on time). The ophthalmologist gave me carbomer eye gel to use before I go to bed and told me to continue

night out flare up
sitting in a lovely hotel room with hubby, due to see a show in 3 hrs and having a bad flare up. Lots of trapped wind, pain and dashing to the loo. Taken an Imodium but feel washed out now. Supposed to be having a nice meal before show, but now scared to eat, and not sure if I can make show either😭.

GCA flares and eyesight
Thank you to everybody on this site – I have found it very helpful. I was diagnosed with GCA in September. I have to say my GP and Bath Hospital were excellent though it was a shock. My sight tested OK in the Eye Clinic. I started on 60 prednisolone reducing, and I am coping quite well, but I am paranoid

Anyone opted for private Cataract surgery?
Hi, I have seronegative RA and am on Benepali. Have just had a routine eye test and been told I need cataract surgery. I thought I needed new glasses but it turns out it's cataracts! Anyway my optician has referred me on the NHS via my GP but I'm wondering about going private as I have no idea how long

Dry eyes
Hi helpful warriors I am on 35 mg of pred for next 2 weeks, then tapering to 30. Does pred cause dry eyes? ( did have cataract removal surgery in June of 2023.) Since diagnosis of GCA in late July 2023 I have had very dry eyes. I am on Thealoz Duo drops (3% Trehalose, 0.15 Sodium Hyaluronate).

Sjogrens - eye pain/migraine
I'm getting severe headaches that are around my eyes. I wake up with my head & eyes killing me. Is this just dry eyes? My light sensitivity is off the charts. Has anyone else expierenced this? Is this a Sjogren symptom?

Hi all. I have had concussion since August, after a fall when I banged my head. Although improving, I have a problem with bright light/glare
As above - I had a fall in August and banged my neck, chin. I am improving but can't deal with light (as in a bright sky), or glare. I also have difficulty when there is a lot of noise (as in grandchildren!). I can't wear earphones.... Does anyone know of research into coloured lenses and how certain

Cataract surgery advice please.
I've got glaucoma and I'm very short sighted. The left eye has got the glaucoma. The right eye isn't affected much with it yet, but does have the cataract. After they fit the new lens in my right eye, my shortsightedness apparently might be rectified. This will give me an enormous discrepancy between

Imodium
Hello, does anyone find it helpful to take Imodium to prevent diarrhoea if going out? Or would you recommend taking anything else as a preventative?

December and flare ups
I have suffered with chronic IBS D for over twenty years and I always seem to get worse this time of year, but I have no idea why! I have tried many different anti depressants to try to alleviate the problem, and I am currently on citalopram which doesn’t seem to do anything. I am resorting to taking

Starbursts from new glasses driving me insane. Can anyone help?
Hi, I recently got 2 new pairs of glasses, one with Transitions lenses and one 'plain'. There's been a lot of faff with the Transitions because I didn't like the frames, but right at the outset I noticed I was suddenly getting these epic starbursts on lights (with both pairs), particularly in the distance
