Although Flecainide 50mg bid has kept AF episodes to a much lower frequency, 6 in ‘23, I’d like to hear from a few more of you who have undergone this new procedure.
What are the results; is the blanking period shorter; anyone had it done at Royal Bournemouth Hospital?
I hear reports that it’s much faster, less chance of peripheral damage and more precise in mapping and knocking out the rogue cells.
I reckon sooner or later, I’ll be going for it.

At Patients Day last October we were told that results were comparable with other methods of ablation. I suspect it is still far too soon to know long term prognosis.
I understand the 'success' of an ablation is to some extent down to the experience and expertise of the EP and team carrying out the procedure and the more they do the more proficient they become.
If as Bob says the 'results were comparable with other methods of ablation' and not superior to them and many EPs will not yet have acquired a level of experience in the procedure, I would rather stick to those who have become expert in other ablation methods.
When I had a cryoablation recently I was reassured by knowing I was in the hands of an experienced EP (I looked him up) who would know what to do if anything went wrong.
I would like to try PFA if I need another ablation but only when it has become more tried and tested and and all EPs have gained experience in the procedure.
Hoping to have pulse field ablation done at Bournmouth too.
Be interested to see replies, have you seen a Consultant there yet? They are highly experienced I know, they are one of main teams in the U.K for PFA (and others). So all should be good.
