22 year old wondering if all my problems are thyroid related?
I am also struggling to eat - I heavily suspect low stomach acid as I can't digest protein well and have to eat small portions and am being tested for
SIBO
- any attempt to eat more than a tiny amount of starchy carbs cause immediate severe digestive symptoms.

Spelt Sourdough
I have IBS,
SIBO
in fact, and there is a suspicion that I may have Non-celiac Gluten Sensitivity. In an effort to test this it has been suggested that Spelt Sourdough is low in Fructan's and other FODMAP's so we can check for any reaction to the Gluten.

Update ibs symptoms
I am still on a
SIBO
/FODMAP diet. I started to reintroduce foods, tried strawberry jam, corn flakes (nongluten), tuna. The tuna didn't go so well, it has pea powder in it go figure. I have two doctor appointments one to see my results and the other to see the specialist.

Reintroducing Foods with Past IBS Flares (gas and runny tummy)
So update The last two weeks I have made slow progress to come off my
SIBO
/Low Fodmap diet and eat stuff I use to enjoy. I tried like a quarter of teaspoon on peanut butter but I didn’t get a reaction...not sure I can handle a whole sandwich or shake with it.

RLS & SIBO - possible link. Stanford Study
This Article suggests
SIBO
( small intestinal bowel overgrowth) may be linked to RLS. As gut inflammation can cause malabsorption of Iron, and iron deficiency is linked to RLS, this looks very interesting.

Has anyone been treated for SIBO?
My breath test has come back with methane positive
SIBO
and I'm not sure what to do now! I'm quite surprised as I have IBS-D so expected hydrogen but that was a normal reading. Has anyone had any success in treating Methane
Sibo
? Products etc?

Update on Xifaxin Treatment for SIBO
I did promise a few posters abut my results after taking a 2 week 3 times per day course of treatment. During the 2 weeks my symptoms such as bloating and constipation improved and I was hopeful for the benefits to last a number of months HOWEVER within a day or 2 after stopping I was the same as before

Gas, IBS, SIBO
Than I was diagnosed with
SIBO
. I tried Rifaximin (Xifaxan) and after 6 days I had bad stomach pain and strong diarhea. Since I usually don't suffer from stomach pain I got scared that I will be worse and I stopped drinking it. And now what?

Control and Treatment of SIBO and IBS
First thing is, fix your
SIBO
as described above. If you still have
SIBO
symptoms, oregano oil capsules are very good, it is bactericidal and can help with acute
SIBO
problems. It is not “gassy” as you may find with peppermint oil. Fixing your
SIBO
has got to be your priority.

Any SIBO survivors out there?
I am trying to find a way forward with a cure for
SIBO
but everywhere I read says that it just comes back after treatment. Trying to figure out whether its worth the cost and risk of changing IBS symptoms to something worse or not.

New bloodwork results
One thing that has improved though is Ive had floating stools for about a year and a half and was diagnosed with
sibo
, my stool no longer floats. Thats a plus I guess. Not sure if its the thyroid meds or because I have started intermittent fasting.

What to Expect - Hydrogen Breath Test
Hi all, I'll be having a hydrogen breath test (to see if I have
SIBO
?) on Tuesday. I have halitosis - which gets worse the longer I go without mints or gum. I'm feeling anxious about the health care assistants/hospital staff being able to smell it, as I undertake the test.

First post: I need support/some kind of light at the end of the tunnel (IBS-C)
I am pretty sure I have a crazy case of
SIBO
, which I've been trying to kill off but to no avail. When I think of how my life used to be compared to what it is now I just want to jump off a building. Has it gotten better for anyone who had it really bad?
