Hey guys! This is my first post, sorry it's a bit mopey. I've been dealing for 2 years and I am at the end of my rope. I am pretty sure I have a crazy case of SIBO, which I've been trying to kill off but to no avail. When I think of how my life used to be compared to what it is now I just want to jump off a building. Has it gotten better for anyone who had it really bad?

Hi there - i have been talking about my sibo on another thread today! First q is have you been tested - must be a breathe test! Before treating for sibo it is key to know what bacteria you have, where in small intestine and numbers. I presume you will be methane positive if constipated but it can be a bit variable. Once you have a positive test it is really important to work with a profesional who is experienced at treating sibo so you can be confident you are getting the right dose, treatment duration, advice on meal spacing, diet etc. It is difficult to treat but often treatable even if multiple courses needed! Also to test effectiveness of your treatment plan it is key to retest at intervals until you are clear of it. Eg my symptom improvement has only been about 20% so i thought treatment not working but when i retested my numbers of bacteria were well down so now i know i am on right path and just need to persevere!
