Asthma & Acid Reflux
Hi all. I'm looking for some advice from those suffering from asthma and GERD/ acid reflux. My asthma has been difficult to control the past few months and I've had a continuous crackle in my chest at night, along with post nasal drip, and chest and stomach pain. A chest Xray was clear, and after posting

Salbutamol/Ventolin use
Good morning all, I hope everyone is well. I recently replied to a post about this subject but have been asked to convert it to a main post for you all: Ventolin/Salbutamol (Short-Acting Beta Agonists -SABA) use is really important for GP's to monitor in order to pick up those asthmatics that could

Uncontrolled Asthma, repeated asthma attacks every day. Do I have bronchiectasis?
I am 52, slim, fit, healthy and quite fit with a balanced healthy diet no milk but plenty of bio yoghurt. I supplement with vit c, vit D and probiotics daily. I have had asthma since 4yo, productive chesty cough for twenty five years, chest infections two to six times a year swiftly cleared by Amoxicillin

I have recently changed jobs and finding I am still quite breathless when walking up stairs and walking fast on the level. I tried my ventolin

SOB but peak flow doesn't change and asthma tests don't show anything severe
Hi, I'm kind of desperate right now and thought that you guys might have some ideas regarding my problems. Roughly 3 Weeks ago I started having trouble of breath from time to time. In my case inhaling feels much worse than exhaling. Also my throat starts feeling harder when I have SOB. I don't have

Are who are not sereve asthmatics at risk of cornavirus
While we all know that asthmatics who have sereve asthma are clinically extremely vulnerable to cornavirus. However those of us who have well controlled asthma (take preventive inhaler and have the flu jab) are listed as clinically vulnerable. For myself my asthma has been very well controlled for

Lung crackles - and endless frustration
For the past few months I've been getting a crackling in my lungs when I breathe in, which mostly happens while I'm lying down at night. My asthma nurse didn't think this was an asthma thing and referred me to my rheumatologist - I also have rheumatoid arthritis. The rheumatologist didn't think it was

Ileostomy questions
I was wondering if anyone could answer any questions that I have. Nothing too serious just some random questions. I have been told by the surgeons that I might be having ostomy surgery. That is all I was told, I have done a lot of research but I am currently waiting on a call from my Gastroenterologist

CT with contrast
Hi, due to unstable asthma my consultant has asked for a CT chest/thorax with contrast. I’m a bit worried about the contrast part having never had this kind of investigation (usually they stop at xray). Has anyone had this before? More concerned about side effects and if it will affect my asthma

Is hearing that you are receiving treatment a reason to be positive?
Hi everyone, well I am really struggling with this emotional rollercoaster. Yesterday my consultant confirmed my cancer looks stage 3 and that I will have treatment. I have to have a biopsy first to see what treatment it will be. She talked about possible outcomes of surgery, like a stoma and removal
