Asthma.org emails
I am sure that asthma.org do a good job representing asthma. but some of the emails they send out are a bit ridiculous. like these We're challenging you to recreate the iconic Everest Base Camp Trek by walking 130km in the month of January. Another one was about doing a marathon. I get out of breath

Flixotide 250
Hi all, I am looking for more advice! This time regarding an inhaler. I have recently been given Flixotide 250 and have been instructed to take 2 puffs morning and night. After doing a bit of research, I see this is quite a high dose inhaler. I recently had a flare up (not sure of the trigger) and was

6 Months+ of Asthma Issues
At the end of May I had several
severe
asthma
attacks and I still don't feel right over half a year later. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, I was given prednisone to help get the inflammation down and since then my inhaler has changed multiple times to try and get things under control.

Ketamine for asthma attacks??? Anyone had it?
I was brought into A&E by ambulance, and I have
severe
brittle
asthma
. Whilst in resus the drs decided to give me ketamine to open my airways. I have never had that before, but they said it was a choice between that or putting me to sleep to ventilate me.

Is Avastin actually worth the terrible side effects?
I’m on 4 of 6 first line chemo for stage 3b/4a HG OC. My doc offered me the option of starting Avastin before the last one & I did (15 months). Since then I’ve had terrible bowel probs (I had a stoma reversal before my 3rd chemo) & really awful aches in legs, bum & feet. I can’t clear bowels properly

Combisal vs Fostair
My asthma has been somewhat out of control the last couple of months. My usual prescription of Fostair 100/6 (2 puffs twice a day) and daily Montelukast has not been working well enough. I 've also been getting nightly crackles in my chest when I breathe in, although the asthma nurse doesn't think

Prednisolone and strange behaviour...!
Hi everyone I've been on Prednisolone for nearly a year at various doses - also taken it many times over the years as I have
severe
asthma
- so I am used to the usual side-effects (low mood, feeling hyper, craving carbs etc).

So..... you have asthma!
Being daunted can lead to anxiety (even subconsciously) which, as mentioned earlier, can then be confused with asthma and, in some people, make the
asthma
worse. However most asthmatics, whether mild, moderate or
severe
, can be well controlled and live completely normal lives.

Asthma action plans
Hi everyone Hopefully this will be a nice, short post (unlike the usual essays 😅😂😉) Action plans - everyone needs one, not everyone has one! When you’ve been diagnosed with asthma (as in the docs are pretty sure this is the issue), this should be first on the cards! It clues you in when to get help

Asthma and pregnancy
. :-) I have
severe
asthma
and am struggling with a lot of asthma attacks and sickness each winter. However, I normally have no problem with my oxygen saturation. We're planning to get pregnant and it would be the most practical to begin trying in the beginning of summer.
